NESRGB mod

Post by Vault94 »

Hello,

I'm looking to get my NES installed with the NESRGB chip to make it RGB, does anyone know of anyone who does this job or were I can post on this forum to find someone. Hopefully within Europe, UK being best. Thanks

The chip is here

I'd say this guy over at Games tech US
Check out some of his vids, he's transparent, knows what he's doing, not over priced and tries to take care of the work the same day the parcel arrives.

Yeah Im in the UK. I've done my 2 front loading NES systems. I guess I could do yours, might take a week though as I'm fairly busy atm, but would probably be able to do it over a weekend.

Hey lettuce could you still do this, I've only just remembered this thread.

I'd be getting the board in about 2 weeks time and it's for a front loading NES, could you do the 3 switch colour pallet too?

Is this all I need for this mod? http://etim.net.au/shop/shop.php?crn=2& ... how_detail

I'd be paying shipping and supplying the board, how does £40 sound?

Thanks

Probably be looking around the £60 if you wanted the pallet switch as well. And this would only come with the supplied 8 pin din socket and not a Nintendo multiout socket. If you wanted that it would be another £15 due to the cutting and fitting the socket

Is there any benefit of the multi out over the standard 8 pin din. I've looked around too and I could probably get you a back panel if I were going with the mutli out over the din, any idea were I can get the connector?

No no real benefit, just is probably a more secure/clean connection and just keep in line with all the other Nintendo consoles. But doesn't effect picture quality at all just for cosmetic reasons to use it over the supplied connection.

There a thread on the marketplace sub forum over at assembler forums....

http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/sh ... A-V-Socket

its the screw mount kit you'd want for the front loader NES

I'll get the board ordered Tomorrow then and get in touch when it arrives.

I'll go with the multi out and a pallet switch for a front loading NES for £75?

And do I buy the kit without the RGB to Component Board?

And is the screw kit the small one, I could order the full mount one and then there's no drilling or is that just for toploaders?

Yeah dont need the component board if you using standard scart lead. The full mount board is indeed only for the top loaders

BTW what will you be using this NES on a CRT TV??

That's a Wii-style connector, not a Multiout, it will work for this application, but you would need to purchase a Wii cable not a multiout cable. ;)

The multiouts are here: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/sh ... A-V-Socket
