I beat Metal Black the other night on the Saturn, apparently the pilot was wondering if the Earth really blew up or not, wondered if it was just a dream, etc.
Before that, I died on the last boss (I think I was out of credits) and all the Black Flies (the ships) were angered by my death and avenged me, or something.
Anyways, now that I've seen two endings, I was wondering if there were anymore. Is there a special one if 1CC the game?
Man, I've got some Metal Black tunes stuck in my head, too...Zuntata strikes again.
Metal Black endings
No, you just have those two.The good ending makes an homage to Captain Harlock, episode 7 or 8 (The splitted earth).
"The only desire the Culture could not satisfy from within itself was one common to both the descendants of its original human stock and the machines [...]: the urge not to feel useless."

Stage 2's BGM "Dual Moon" is probably my favorite MB track (the way it really takes off closer to the end is nice), with Stage 5's "Doubt" coming close. Phantasm rocks.
It cracks me up a bit when the large mothership boss drops what looks like giant screws. I can imagine a review on the Shmups.com mainsite saying "The next screw that falls out is going to be you if you're not careful here".
The final boss' background is amazing with the trippy images.

So true. My second favorite track is Area 26-10.gameoverDude wrote:Stage 2's BGM "Dual Moon" is probably my favorite MB track (the way it really takes off closer to the end is nice), with Stage 5's "Doubt" coming close. Phantasm rocks.
I agree. I think it's some sort of evaluation on man's use of weapons and that knowledge is a weapon. Still don't understand the green eyed cat.gameoverDude wrote:The final boss' background is amazing with the trippy images.
I think the intro is neat also. That pilot is really bookin' it down those stairs.
