Finding a Saturn

Post by karasuman »

I have been thinking about picking up a Saturn finally and modding it so I can play all these Saturn games I never got around to. Does anyone know good reputable websites that sell systems and/or import saturn titles? Specifically I have been thinking about picking up Cotton 2 and Boomerang if I can find them. Thanks!

Would you be interested in a nice white Japanese one? IMHO, action gamers really don't need an American system. I don't know if I have one, but if you'd like me to check, holler back.

I have some games as well, but not the two you mentioned. Which are incredibly bold and awesome in every concievable way :)

I suggest the mighty ebay. Just look for guys with mega feedback and 99% positives or better. You can't go wrong.

I got my Saturn and both Cotton games on eBay a year or two back...as Pa said, the main reason I bought the thing was for imports, but if you can only get ahold of a US system just buy an Action Replay or ST Key on the side, and you're good to go. Back when I bought the games Cotton 2 was around 30 bucks and Boomerang was around 60...someone else around here (it might've been prof. ganson?) got a nice deal on one or both of 'em awhile back, so keep your eyes open.

EDIT: Currently on eBay there are 2 copies of Cotton 2 up for 30$ or less, and 2 Boomerangs up for $45, one of 'em ending in a day or so; I can recommend the seller (palet th), I've bought from them a few times.

Ok, cool. I figured Ebay was the place for imports, but I figured I would see if there were any online stores I was not aware of. I'll probably pick up the Cotton games there, I just need to set up an account.

PaCrappa, how much do you want for the Saturn (if you have one)?

If you can only get a US system, get a Model 2 with round buttons. (trust me on this) Also, I'd recommend doing a region mod, and getting the official Sega 4mb cart. After market carts always fuck up your cart slot (different shape, and thick PCB), plus certain carts glitch, or always have a confirmation screen. By all means, if you're comfortable modding, do the region mod. Essentially turns your system into a Japanese one. Never have to worry about what will work, or what won't etc. Get a "modboard" while you're at it. I wouldn't ask about them on the forums though. :) Good luck.
