Damn, I just got it as easily as signing to my old japanese account from iphone settings, downloading the game, switch back to my original account from settings, and that's it.

I might have gone "the long way around" because all the instructions I tried following at first to set up a Japan account were based on using itunes on my PC which led to nothing but trouble. When I finally found a method that worked I posted it so nobody else would have to go through the same crap. But now I have the syncing problem. Essentially Apple seems to be too stupid to make it be able to sync 2 accounts on a phone. Now neither work whether I'm signed in in both places under the same login or not.

FWIW I fixed the sync problem by reinstalling itunes (it finally took), changing it to auto-sync, powering off and on my phone and plugging it back in. Now I have the sync button option back on there.

While you are logged into a Japan account, these are worth grabbing:

Will Don Paccin run on the iPad 3, iPad mini and/or iPad Air setups or is it strictly just for the iPhone only?

Has anyone passed world 7 without paying money?

Nevermind... have to use the "rainbow dream team" is all. I imagine pretty soon I'm going to have to be replaying old levels to build up more powerful teams in order to advance.

Does anyone know a translation for the hint screens you get when you don't pass a level? Probably something about using a color set or powering up?

Without being able to read Japanese you are pretty blind to the small RPG details in this game, like any specifics on characters having 20% extra this and that.

What's your strategy on building teams to be able to do that? I've been using all my powerup resources on the R characters because the normal ones seem so temporary, maybe that's my problem, but I'm not always 1 hit killing the boss characters in the RPG battles. I don't really know what strategies you can really do besides making teams of the same color and powering them up over time.

Also are you doing anything weird in game like dodging certain items? Have you found that holding off on shooting often so you can use the power shot to try and force more stars is useful? I can't tell if it's helpful if during the downtime I'm still spending gas and losing the shot time?

I've just powered up every single Robo and use the suggested color for stages

I've been able to pass some more levels by powering up normal team members but I wonder if we are screwing ourselves by picking up random gems if they change our shot to a color other than what hurts the bosses most.

OK I just experimented with that and it does seem to be the case, sticking to your single color pickups works. They quickly become the only type that sucks in and it ends up giving you way more power in the RPG battles. So it looks like the strategy is pickup your current color gems plus stars and bonus items like the X2. Correct me if I'm wrong. Picking up everything is probably only useful for when you rainbow dream team it, which worked for me once but I can't really tell what determines an ideal situation for it.

From my guide
-Picking up a different color of gem will not instantly give you more of that gem: it will only switch your current collection-color.
So what does this mean? First gem of different color = you won't get that one gem. If there's lots of different colors of gems on screen, focus on collecting one color instead of trying to rush them all, as this will not give you ..well.. anything

But if a stage gem color is a certain color, that should be the one you go after, correct? Not just sticking to any one.

The AP timer seems to be getting bigger and bigger. That's a bit disturbing. It would be better if the timer was different for each team at least, like the way Angry Birds Go gives you more plays per day as you unlock more characters.

Update...Actually this isn't the case because your AP max grows over time so you can build more up. Lots to learn I guess. Petition for an English version?

Eh, seems on the later levels' end stages they can start out as a certain gem color and then the second half boss is a different one, so maybe rainbow teams for the end of level stages...Collect the gems of the current boss' color type then switch... I feel like me and Cagar are the only ones playing this. Whores! All of you are complete slut whores.

Play the event missions from the world map...
You will get these robos which you should only use for upgrading, they even read "EXP" in the icon

EDIT: Holy shit those new year map rewards.... They seem to be categorized with difficulties: green = easy, yellow = medium, red = hard.
I can barely survive medium and i'm at world 11. Just play any of the stages from that event to see the rewards pop-up.

I don't understand what this means. Are you talking about the islands that just popped up to the right of Japan and are apparently there temporarily? They have a countdown ticker? Have you found these? 1 set is apparently only there for today?
Cagar wrote: You will get these robos which you should only use for upgrading, they even read "EXP" in the icon
Meaning only use them for combining into pre-existing characters and don't try fighting with them? Edit: I checked and that does seem to be the case. I don't even think it will let you use them for anything else.

Yeah I'm not understanding the gem colors on the new island stages if that is what you mean because it never matches the gem color of the stage boss when you enter. But I'm not on stage 11 and don't really understand what you are saying.

Wow i'm unclear.

Event missions = those missions with like 200 hours timers, they are HAPPY NEW YEAR event missions.
You can't even use the EXP robos for fighting, as they cost 99 of the team-management power, which is pretty much unreachable. So they're only suitable for upgrading others.

The weakness at the beginning of mission is.. really just the WEAKNESS of the boss. There are rules like "Red is weak to blue" and "Blue is weak to yellow" etc. and those dark gem-coloured ufos are weak to bright gems.

OK. BTW you can get screwed by using teams of all the same color. If you don't have someone who can gather big gems of a certain color then you can end up with the pea shooter for long periods of time until your one color (finally) comes up, and you can get hosed out of clearing a level because you were weak for so long. I'm seeing more and more times were a mix of colors is needed especially on these island levels where I can't tell what the enemy color is even going to be.

There is another set of islands with only a ~20 hour timer left. Do you think the whole levels are going to disappear forever after the clocks run out or what? Just "missions" on them are special now and they will go back to "normal" levels after the timer? Any ideas on the tips screens?

We need some clear rules about how the gems work too. I can't tell which I'm supposed to match or if one is always more powerful.
