got the apk, installed, but some popup with mobage thingy redirects me to play store again. with the message not available in your country.

I like the looks of this so far (aesthetics remind me of pink sweets). Since its free, I'll give it a try as soon as people figure out how to get around the country thing. I'm just not too keen on the whole touch screen shmup interface.

The only way to get it on ios is apparently to buy a Japanese gift card and sign up for an account using that as your credit card, so it's no longer free. I think it's rude to have all your past games available internationally and then after you have a worldwide fanbase make a Japan only ios game, knowing everybody outside Japan will want it. I didn't even know you could region lock ios games. Rude.

I followed the instructions on a youtube video and it didn't work.

I tried logging out and in, then changing the region to Japan (forced a US at first even though I was in Japan language) and it brought me back to the credit card screen, this time without a "none" option. There isn't even a gift card option, just credit cards.

"Cancel" button anywhere? It shouldn't cancel your registeration, just the credit card part of it. (If things haven't changed after I registered)

The cancel button cancels me out of switching it to Japan region. I'm going to try another email and see if I missed something but from a logged out state I don't even understand how I can bring up the Donpaccin page in itunes. I had it show up once, no idea how, and when I clicked on it it said I needed to login with a US account, which is obviously incorrect. Is there even a way to use a url within itunes? It really is shit. Has anyone here in the US got this running on their iphone?

I'm coming up with zilch for Android ... might have something to do with the title being in Katakana instead of English though.

"Don Paccin" or "Donpaccin" seem to be the most popular anglocized names.

OK now I have figured this stupid thing out so I can help other people get it on their iphone. You have to follow this exactly (hopefully I remembered everything correctly).

Edit with newer version instructions:
on iphone, load app store
click featured button on bottom left
scroll to bottom
click apple id
sign out of account
search for "cave co ltd", find game
click install
create new apple id
scroll the flippy thing to the bottom until you reach 日本
click next
click agree
answer the questions, use a real email address
next

When it asks you for your address, you can use fake info for everything except it has a checker to see if you are lying about your prefecture and zip code. You use hokkaido for prefecture and 0600000 for zip code. The rest of the stuff like first and last name can be made up. There should be a "none" option for credit card.

Also it's running full speed on my 4S so it must be just the 4 that has the issue I guess.

Interesting side note: once you have done this and you are logged into your Japan account, if you go to app store/top charts/free you can see the top free stuff in Japan... Shock Maze FTW.

OK I have to admit it, aside from not being able to read Japanese, for an ios game this absolutely delivers. It's not a traditional bullet dodger nor a suitable replacement by any means for a new arcade shooter but just as "an ios game" I'd rate it up there with the best ios games I've played. Definitely hoping for more bullets in later levels though and an English option.

Well I want them to keep making arcade pcbs bullet hells more than anyone but I admit even I was wrong in regard to their ability to adapt their games. What they have done here is stunning. It's a step above my expectation. For one thing they've Cave-magically used the limitations of the ios to their best interest, first with just having the ship be able to move left and right, which at first sounds like a backwards ass limitation but when you play it you realize it takes away some of the full movement slop that is sometimes associated with shmups on ios plus the fact that you never seem to have your player covered by your finger. Additionally the enemy count is really high to the point where "enemies are a bullet", basically the enemies combine with the bullets to all be dodge-able items, and there doesn't need to be as many when you are limited to only left and right / no up and down. Combine that with a charge shot, powerups, rpg elements, "new player GET!!!" extreme eyecandy and Cave-whatnot.

But again it's not a replacement for danmaku, but it's a fine addition to ios. Cave has shown they can hang with the big boys on ios.

Done that. Installed. Upon booting the game it pop up something which in japanese. I think it wanna say country not supported.

I think instead of "feeding" the robos to power them up, probably "combining" them makes more sense?

Well there is a downside to adding a Japan account, after a while my phone wouldn't sync anymore and now my computer can't even make it through reinstalling itunes without an "interruption". Apple still sucks. They got lucky with the iphone. Still some mark ass trick busters.
