Question about replacement lasers

This was the "where to get replacement lasers" thread I started, but now I'm gonna ask about the lasers themselves.

How good are generic replacement lasers? For most of the systems I got lasers for, I had to go that route.
I was able to get "official" lasers for the PC Engine Duo, so I'm guessing you can get some for other systems as well. The non-generic type, that is.
Can you still get any Saturn, Dreamcast, or PS1 non generic lasers?

Also, are there places you can get non generic Wii lasers, and PS2 slim lasers?

Or do you have to go the generic route with those as well?
