I'm starting to see Xbox One consoles in stock at various stores (ie: Toys R Us, Target, etc) in my travels today.

Not necessarily.
The PS4 sections at stores like Toys R Us and Target are small and in less appealing areas of the gaming section.
It really does look like the PS4 is being sold as an afterthought.
Even the WiiU's displays seem to be set up better and not shoved away in some out of the way area of the store.

my friend and i have worked out away to share downloaded digital games (note you must be able to trust this friend).
get yor friend to sign in on your ps4 with his psn account.then you make your console his primary console.then you do the same with his (make his console your primary console when you are logged into psn on his machine) now you can share games and download each others library and profit.. you can also apparently share a ps+ account between 2 consoles using his method(you can even both be playing the same multiplayer game at the same time using only one ps+ account) but i can't confirm as we both have separate ps+ accounts.

I wouldn't try stuff like that with an MS console though as they would ban your ass in a minute if they find out about it and with you everyone else who used it .

There was a trick where you could get some games free on the 360 if you made a new account with Oman as your home location that was gladly shared on Gaf , most if not all had there console banned from Live forever once MS found out, there's a topic there filled with bitter tears and of course people gloating about it .

WW sales end of December: 4.2 million PS4s, 3 million Xbones.

Gap will probably widen - the PS4 has been supply constrained, still is. People are still being told up to Feb by some retailers, Xbones are on the shelf.

At the moment, PS4 still is severely supply-constrained (while Xbone is not). The gap will widen.

About half a boner - WiiU

Since you still can't order a PSX4 from Amazon, when they would really really love to have your money in their bank account, I'll buy the "constrained by supply" excuse for now. Or constrained by flippers, the guys who only buy these things expecting to be able to sell them for more later on.
