I usually try to bomb at least two of them. That's an easy 100k there. And by getting more points, you get more lives and thus more bombs again.

Decided to go on after a failed D,7 and got this one:

E,539,490 - Plasmo - ALL - Bornnam (ABC)

Now that's more like it. Still, I broke my medalchain during stage 6 and wasn't able to build it up again. BHMKII was sloppy aswell. I can't complain for a first 1cc though.

Congrats Plasmo! That must have felt good :D

I also use homing options for stage 6, I can't get nearly enough bombs and they help so much with the tank bunkers towards the second half onward.

I haven't really played since my +9 million score and reaching king crimson for the first time. How many years has it taken me to get this far, yet I still feel so far away.

It goes "Have a nice day, thanks for playing this." And that's it. That's the end of the game.

Black Heart Mk2 is surprisingly difficult with Black Zeppelin. Not sure how to deal with this beast. At least here's another letter for you to aim at.

9,500,720 - KevinDDR - Stage 7 - Gain (C)

Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I was almost certain I could crack 10mil on this run, but sadly there just weren't enough points left between milking Junky Monkey and dying after bombing Black Heart 2's grenades. I've been having some good runs lately (the scores in this picture are the results of leaving the PCB on for 3 days and just turning my PVM off), so I think a letter score isn't out of reach now.

Recorded live on a PCB on PDP80/WNKA's Twitch stream. Video is in the link above. I returned WNKA's Garegga PCB to him, so for the time being this score will do. I'm not done, though, gotta get the 1CC eventually. Very excited about the letter score, though; I'm not very good at most shmups but between this and my Radiant Silvergun score from earlier last year, I feel like I'm starting to make some progress!

It's awesome seeing more people get serious with Garegga! :D

Grats on the first letter, Kevin. Love how you hum along and drum with the tunes. Thought i was the only one who did that. :P

Congrats on that great score and thanks for the intense video, really loved it! :D

Also good job on doing some rather advanced strategies. Doing that medal suicide in stage 6 really is no easy thing. Looking forward to you getting much higher letters!

Grattis som fan, Gangsta! :D

Saturn (with no slowdown)
7,962,400 - chempop - 7 - Golden Bat

...so close  The one death I could afford on King Crimson/Glowsquid, I was only able to recover 1 option. Arrrg, only 40K points and I'd have maybe gotten my first clear. First time getting to glowsquid, I won't give up.

Did you really play with Wild Snail (Type A)? May I ask why? Golden Bat only has advantages, like a smaller hitbox and slightly higher speed.

Good luck on the 1cc!

Ah crap, my mistake, it was ABC type. I always forget they have different names for the types (so used to Gain and Miyamoto).

Alright then, ABC = Golden Bat (you can find the other names for the 4 regular ships in the first post).
