Speaking of
accidental disinformation, don't you love it when it comes straight from the source? This about Phantasy Star Portable (the first one) from
Sega's own blog:
You’re also given grinders to upgrade your weapons after every mission, and there is no chance of “breaking” your weapon, either. If you’ve ever sweated out upgrading an S-rank weapon from 7 to 8 grinds in Phantasy Star Universe, then you know what a boon this is.
A bit later:
[...] imagine my joy when within several hours of gameplay I was wielding the much-ballyhooed Twin Beefedge (cooked to a crispy 10/10).
Oh, I bet I can: You CAN break the beef weapons through grinding. There's a breaking / failure (something) sound, even.
Beef weapons should be cooked to M, not W (well-done). Fixing this is just as easy as reloading and trying again, of course.
Speaking of things that annoy me: Games without gameplay. I guess that's the new Sega, huh?
Also - I know why they switched to static scenes for the cities and conversations, but not being able to run around the cities bugs me. 'course it always was a rather disappointing experience seeing all that stuff you couldn't get to or interact with.
