Yay, Vulgus ship. Isn't there an eyes-shaped ship out there? Second most eye-catching motif to anything red around.

I like the blasters from Air Buster. It's a jet with guns.

I instantly recognize that above Aero Blasters pic from the PC Engine STG collection easily. NEC went as far to properly release it in the USA as well for the TurboGrafx-16 console with the same Aero Blasters title as that of the original PCE STG namesake. Interstate and Kaneko sure went the extra mile in utilizing a silky-smooth 60fps framerate + simultaneous 2-player co-op mode via Turbo Tap method also (something that the MD/Genesis port of Air Buster didn't have, period + having to contend with the usual 30fps overall framerate presentation). Of course, arcade PCB purists will say that the Namco/Kaneko produced Air Buster PCB (circa 1990) is the definitive version to own/play hands down. I've had the golden opportunity to play AB at a San Francisco arcade joint on Market Street back in 1991 and at the Modesto, CA based Camelot Park (aka Boomers nowadays) in 1993...an ace arcade-based shmup indeed. So yes, AB did get a proper Jamma PCB conversion kit release stateside.

The Raiden MK-II from Raiden II/DX is VTOL fighter design at it's finest and the jet from G-Stream G2020 is awesome, with those folding, swept back wings, and the ability to fold up into a compact size for storage, just badass!

SDOJ's laser helicopter is pretty cool too. Mars Matrix has those sexy ship changes as they powerup.
And who could forget communism-bot Valpiro?
