Is there a way to make deathsmiles + black label bootable in ume? I keep getting the incorrect roms thing.

Then you have to get the correct ROMs for that version of UME. The message doesn't have any particularly mysterious meaning.

there was a dump, but it was given to me under strict condition that it remained private until the driver was back in MAME.

I've since lost that dump (long story) and the account of the person who gave it to me anonymously on another forum appears to have been deleted.

So you can assume black label isn't dumped unless he gets back in touch.

The people dumping these things generally aren't interested in dumping the latest games, and I don't really blame them for that.

Black label? That is 1.0 and 1.5 version only.

Basically, nothing new from the supported games compared to CAVEUI?

If you don't mind CAVEUI running like dogshit and not having any slowdown at all and not having Daifukkatsu support, no.

The 360 version with the superior Shin mode was released in all three main regions. Shin was eventually ported to arcades, but not on PCB.

"New" Cave (SH-3) games are demanding on CPU, yes. Default (2.5GHz) is a problem. But, CAVEUI work fine here (E7200 @ 3.2GHz). Mushi Futari BL, Deathsmiles, etc.

Matrigs was referring to this post:
Haze wrote:I’ve asked Micko.

The current Cave driver will be submitted in the new year so they’ll become the first change of 2014 I guess. If I cover them in this article or the year after will come down to when I manage to finish writing it and decide a cut-off point. Last time it was the first release of 2013 because it contained a lot of work from 2012.

It will be slower than the hacked up UME builds, because I don’t have whatever was hacked into them (and I doubt it would be suitable anyway)
If this ends up happening it'll be the death of the hackjob builds and possibly usher in real improvements in the distant future. Regardless of the controversy and divided opinions, I believe this will be for the benefit of the whole business of the CV1000 driver when it gets out in the open. If you think the driver sucks, 2014 will be your chance to improve it. If you don't like having access to Cave games from 2004-2008, don't compile a MAME build with it. And most importantly, if you want to play it you can do it without having someone's hackjob build putting in ugly things like "RAIDEN DX FREEPLAY WORKERS".

If the sound issue still persists (by the way, really fucking obvious in Muchi Muchi Pork with all of the UME leaks) I'll put something in MAMETesters for it seeing as it'll be an official driver.

I am most interested in finding out how good the emulation can actually get. If the performance will increase enough to play these even on a simple dual-core. And if the slowdown / game speed will be like 100% original.

I hope that by the time this gets official the whole license dispute will be dealt with and people like trap15 will reconsider adding their code.

I doubt the performance is going to be much better at all, at least on addition to the official SVN - Haze has made himself very clear on that much. But from there, there's nothing to stop people such as trap15 making any improvements they made that COULD go into official SVN public as well.

We may yet see good emulation of the games eventually, not now, not in January 2014, but the future is looking bright for the driver. Things won't need to be behind closed doors anymore once it's official again.

Today I tried UME (0.150) for CAVE SH-3 games. It seems better (faster) than CAVEUI emulator.

http://mamedev.emulab.it/haze/cave-cv1k-reference-page/

It happened to my computer (W7) freeze when I used CAVEUI64 1.3.3. Still has not happened with UME64 0.150.

M+GUI 1.5.1 here...

Testing continues...

EDIT: move from this topic.

Try Slowpoke v2...

I saw this (your post), and I watched these videos, and I realized. :)

Clearly visible deceleration - the Boss bullets (third level):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVRR5HA-1U8

I could not cross the Boss on the third level without losing all my lives because it was too fast - "brutal" (CAVEUI and UME).

Slowpoke v2 and blitter 63% solve the problem!

Finally.

Thank you for help! 8)

What (I think but maybe I am wrong) you have done here is what should never be done -judging arcade emulation against a port. The ports are not arcade accurate period. The only thing to compare emulation against is a recording of an arcade board. Absolutely no room for compromise from this. If you want to do a side by side with the latter video there vs. the mame build with the blitter at 63% then that would be a discussion. I can't tell if that is what you are pointing toward... I just want to be clear that the ports aren't completely accurate in regards to arcade slowdown accuracy, don't mean any offense...

Yes that one is good for comparison. But the "24 hour 1CC" other video you also linked to was from the xbox port, making that one worthless for comparison to arcade emulation.

Both videos (XBOX and arcade PCB) are seen slowing (Boss - third level), and I wanted to show.

Now finally I have a slowdown over the arcade emulator. :)
As strange as it may sound, there was no deceleration before.

UME 0.151 x32 and DFK works almost completely playable @ my poor (business) computer.
I just walked the entire game, with continues, for test... No errors.

I'll try it tonight and on the stronger PC.

Great work. Thx.
