The game looks ugly. I'm only hyped about the music.

I'm with the last two posts. I think it looks pretty silly, and while I really do hope it's good, I'm still quite skeptical. I love Mega Man, but new and like titles in the franchise just don't get me excited anymore.

Exactly, which is why I'm amazed at how readily people are to part with three million dollars. I'm not saying he doesn't have the minerals, but I draw your attention to his two previous ios games and ask you to figure out why you've never heard of them.

For me, it's not that this game will blow the top off of Rockman history, but that with the roster of folks working on it, it should be far from the re-release drivel we've been enduring for some time now.

But Rockman 9 & 10 exist. If they didn't, I might consider this game more necessary.

What's the best Rockman game worth getting (including Vita via PSN)?

Anything that's not 8 or X5+. Maybe not X3.

Personal favorites are X2, Rockman and Forte, and Rockman 5.

I'm excited to see how No. 9 turns out. But then I'm a little disappointed that they stopped the reboot games at 10; I'm all for pumping out more Rockmans as long as they're well done.

Is it too much to ask for a new game with the gameplay of Rockman 9 & 10 and 1080p 2D pixel art?

Was there any new footage? Last I saw, the game is still in early development and the screens are mock ups. The tech demo looked rough, but not bad for what is still very early in development.

Aww I quite liked 8 and especially X3. X5 really is execrable, though. Also, skip the ZX games.

I'd say 2, 10, and X are the absolute must-buys, as in right now tonight. (And the rest will soon follow, don't worry.)

9 & 10 continue the series, but in a strange way. 8 was venturing into the 32-Bit era, so to revert back to 8-Bit esque is some sort of wonky nostalgia based cash grab. I want to see something that progresses in-line with the way games/systems used to. Suffice it to say, they should be able to do some crazy stuff with the current hardware & seasoned dev team.

It's more than nostalgia. Jumping through a doorway with mega buster drawn remains one of the coolest gaming moments ever. No matter how often repeated.

Community pooping it's pants over new "Community Manager."

Summary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXDSfUJBCj0

Official statement from 8-4 (company serving as an international interface for Comcept, which begs the question why one of them isn't in the Community Manager roll): http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=9349 ... count=7842

To make things worse, it seems no one managing the forum actually knows how to use a forum. That place is (still) a disaster, all around.

If I was trying to get publicity for my project, I would have hired her too.

Problem is, she can't be community manager anymore because everyone hates her out the gate. She's obviously inexperienced at PR, because telling the public you're acting outside of your role (in terms of actual design work) is not a sensible thing to do. So unless she gets axed the contributing fans aren't going to be happy having her as a point of communication.

I think the only reason she would be kept on staff is "because Japan." I don't think many other companies would tolerate such armature hour shenanigans. The 8-4 staff did an amazing job throughout the kickstarter and set the bar very high for international representation. I was happy knowing my money was supporting a legit crew who were not only huge fans but 100% qualified for what they were doing. Now my kickstarter contributions are helping pay the bills for this clown.

One thing I find interesting is I've yet to see anyone challenge her qualifications for being community manager. I would think some years of experience moderating forums or something other than tweeting about feminism all the time would qualify you.

Well she's obviously not the sharpest tool in the box, judging by her public responses, so it's doubtful she has any relevant qualifications.

But nepotism.

That much is established. Not wanting to sound sexist, but all things considered it's highly likely sucking someone's cock was the foot in the door.

It could be a set-up to garner publicity, alternatively, life may actually be this ridiculous and weird  What a fucking mess.

I don't think my brain can handle those forums anymore. I would literally prefer the kickstarter comment format (basically a raw list of text posts), to that. There is no flow (comments do not appear at the end of the thread, they stack up under whichever post you are replying to). You can't quote. You can't link to posts. It is abysmal. Now compound that with people who don't know how to use a forum, mods who don't know how to use a forum or moderate, and then pour on top of that this whole Community Manager trainwreck (which it seems the best they can do is damage control by banning the most abrasive posters, editing posts and locking threads).

I'm quite close to only engaging whenever there is an official event (like the upcoming vote for the design for the "Call" character).

There's going to be a vote for the Call design?

You mean it's not going to Mega Man with Anita Sarkeesian's face?

Disappointed.

Yeah, before the Kickstarter was over, they had an initial vote for the top 3 designs from Comcept/Inafune/etc. Soon, they are doing a final vote for the #1 pick. I'm pleased that the 3 they narrowed down to were actually my personal top 3, so it's impossible for me to be disappointed with the outcome of the next vote.

This is what you get when you hire a PR person without doing some digging. A PR person needs to be squeeky clean, for the sake of your company. Ultimately, the blame falls on whoever hired her.

I'll take that over the new Community Manager. Doesn't say stupid stuff. Doesn't use emoticons mask everything it says...

The ram mechanic looks pretty neat but the stun makes the small enemies seem useless.
I really like the diagonal shot at 1:01.

Only 2-3 shots to incapacitate each normal enemy? Either the game needs difficulty settings that add a lot more enemies (such as Rockman 9's Hero/Superhero modes), or this stun/dash-through mechanic has to go. Along with the diagonal shot, it feels like something that's included solely for the sake of being different than Rockman.

Let's not forget that Comcept already has one major strike against their reputation: they were co-developers of the universally panned Ninja Gaiden Z.
