This game also has the closest sounding soundtrack to Ashura Blaster, which I also love just as much. Those two games have some of the best sad sounding music tracks I've seriously ever heard in my entire life.

Have you played Galmedes or U.N. Defense Force: Earth Joker? I'm sure they share the same composer, even if the credits aren't very clear about it.

What the hell. I counted Battle Garegga on 17 different lists in this thread. That game is seriously the most overrated shmup with the most overrated soundtrack. It's ridiculous. Sure, there are a few stand out music tracks in that game, but other than that it's nothing special. There are countless other games that do it better.

I know what you mean. Of all the top-down run 'n' guns I know, it's the most shmup-like (or 'schmup'-like ). But even so, I don't think they'll be enough votes for it for it to be worth me opening the borderline floodgates!

Of course, if heisenbergman wants to give me the thumbs up for editing my list so as to add Shocktroopers, I'll cope! (No worries if not).

Any thoughts on this heisenbergman? How open are the doors to borderlines like Shock Troopers?

Anyway, I'm off to eat. As I've opened the can, I may as well chow down on these lovely looking worms.

TFIV has arguably some of my favorite single tracks, but M.U.S.H.A. had a really memorable track on almost every single stage. Anybody who's never played Elemental Master should really give the OST a listen.
