Buying Crimzon Clover; anything I need to know to install?

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but the impression I get around here is that Crimzon Clover is one of the best doujin shooters out there. I'd like to try out a doujin shooter, so I'm thinking about buying it from tokyo shmups. I was just wondering if there were any issues with installing/running on an english version of windows; like is the installer in english, japanese, or both? Do you need to do anything special with your windows configuration to run the game on an english system? Does the game itself have english menus?

Really? I don't recall having any issues using joysticks ... and I have several.

I'm having trouble getting my Arcade stick to work with this game. I'm using a PS360+ pcb btw.

So just like most PC games. they won't recognize the POV movements. so I assign the POV movement to the arrow keys on my keyboard with joy2key.

works fine so far.... but whenever I hold one of the buttons, the directional movements stop working.

is there any way to fix this?

You need to start the game first and then plug in the controller and it will work just fine.

Thanks for the trial link; I'll try it out later. How many stages (out of what total) does that trial have? Does it have to install as a program or can it run right away?
Also, does the game work with generic windows game-pads? All I have is a Wii classic controller to USB adapter.
And can somebody post a screenshot of that English launcher being used? I don't feel comfortable downloading from a random file sharing site, and I'm assuming that the layout for both launchers is the same.

The demo just has to be extracted. The retail disc gives you a choice. It packages the game in a RAR archive that you can simply extract yourself like the demo, but it also has an installer that does it for you and sets up system shortcuts.

The majority of doujin games will run just fine on non-Japanese versions of Windows. The most common issue that you'll run into is indecipherable characters in the game's directory and file names, but they usually aren't problematic, and can be corrected by using AppLocale to install or extract and run the game.

I doubt it. The game was pulled from store shelves shortly before the arcade release earlier this year. I imagine there's some sort of licensing deal going on with Taito. I haven't been able to get any new stock, and have been selling the dozen-or-so that I still have from previous orders. Same story with Trouble Witches. Once it hit the arcades, the PC version became near impossible to find through official channels.

It's still available from Akibaoo, but they don't ship overseas. I remember seeing mention of a reprint on the developer's diary earlier this year, and I'm guessing that store is the only one where the game was restocked.

Nevertheless, I do suspect that the arcade version is the reason why we haven't seen an official overseas release.
