Post by s8n »

hi guys , i dont get this problem with GUI based mames but command line one yes............

what happens is the image on the Astro monitor is too dark as in blacks are too black , obviously ive tried editing my .ini and also pressing Tab ingame to adjust the sliders to no avail.

sure it helps but its just not the same as i would get using a GUI based mame , it sounds stupid but its a problem im having

im not a Pro at command line mame's so you guys could possibly know what im missing

The JPAC has a video amp on it and protects the 29" from 31k signal but what are you using as your video card / software? Soft15? ArcadeVga?

given the hardware you have, your BEST bet is GroovyMAME with the hacked Catalyst drivers (rather than using the OEM ArcadeVGA drivers).

Not only will it select the correct resolution better, but it's optimized for the CRT + enable more video modes on your ArcadeVGA which Andy's drivers don't have.

There's an entire forum on this over on build your own arcade controls forum, with lots of tips and setup info for your particular CRT + ArcadeVGA card.

That won't be close enough for comfort though.
