No. And would you kindly show me some of those alleged console-war posts of mine?

They should just fire the devteam and not bother. Framerate that low for a supposed high quality game? Unacceptable.

Probably some latent unresolved butthurt over the White Teenage American Male's console losing the war time and time again. Sega does what Nintendon't and all that. Women and children and old people (old = >30) and foreign folk don't really exist, et el.

Let's emotionally care about how well giant faceless corporations are doing. Or about stupid VCRs no one uses anymore.

(I do suddenly emotionally care, a lot, about the WiiU's performance in the upcoming race (still 2nd place to the 3DS so far, woo) solely and only because of the pain its success will give this random anonymous Internet Person. I can not give a damn about it in any other context.)
PSX Vita: Slightly more popular than Color TV-Game system. Almost as successful as the Wii U.

Totally agreed. I saw it up close at that Resogun tourney and they did bork the design. Sony's nicest hardware release in ages are the Vita and first PS3 slim, everything else is cack ugly and I don't know why. I did also see the Xbone and it's huuuuge...!

I think I would have less of a passive-aggressive rage at Friendly's return if he'd change his avatar from that horrifying Steve Martin pic.

And things were going so smoothly for awhile....

On topic: I have no feelings towards or against any next-gen hardware (save the 3DS, which is awesome). That is all.

I didn't understand anything of what you said.

Why would I be butt hurt about not wasting my money on a dead console? Think I dodged a bullet there...

I just feel sorry for all those poor suckers who ended up believing Nintendo's lies, and who worked so hard, for so many hours, for their faceless corporations, in order to afford a machine that didn't even last as long as a glorified toaster. And wasn't anywhere nearly as useful (as a £20 CD player).

Edit: OT... Ghosts is allegedly 60fps on XBone, which gives some weight to the argument that the MS version is 720P due to strategic design decisions.

Personal preference.

I quite like the PS4 design, as well as the XBone. I also think the design for the Wii U is functional at worst, and quite good at best.

I do agree with you that the re-released PS3 Slim looks ugly. But the first slim is a thing of beauty, as is the PSP.

I honestly recommend waiting to see the thing up close and personal folks. It's not a crushingly poor design by any stretch, but Culian's right about the angled slice, it kills it. Imo it was a poor design tweak, and I often wonder why these companies don't take stock of some of the online mocks people do, they're invariably way nicer.

I wouldn't buy a Wii U, but there's nothing wrong with its form factor except that it's unremarkable.

i'm actually leaning towards ps4 myself but that doesn't change the fact you are an idiot for shilling for a shitty corparation.
the wording of the tos for ps4 is very ambiguous indeed and it seems to say to me that you can't resell ps4 software but if other people are reassuring that's not the case i will trust their judgement for the meantime until i have 100% comfirmation.

The initial reviews are out for the launch titles. Nothing new tbh. Average titles... Always the case with Sony console hardware.

Still, I give it a year before we get the PS4 really coming into its own.

Sony just dropped another bomb: PS4's audio DSP is based on AMD’s TrueAudio technology.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/7513/ps4- ... -trueaudio

Put on headphones, close your eyes and listen to this for a demonstration of 3D audio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKnhcsRTNME

So PS4 isn't just ahead of Xbone in the graphics department, its audio capabilities are superior, too.

Sony heard everyone's complaints about MP3s/CDs and is now promising to include the standards. Hope folks are happy now: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/13/ ... ost-launch

On the down side, we already heard awhile back that the Xbox One doesn't play 3D BD movies. It turns out the PS4 doesn't support 3D BD movies either: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/13/ ... d-blu-rays

Most troubling, it seems quite a number of the few who've already received early PS4s have experienced HDMI port problems. And if HDMI isn't working, there's no alternative display. Ideally, this is just a small problem with early models. Otherwise, Sony will have a major PR issue post-launch: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/14/ ... -4-systems

That 3D thing has been amusing - not very many people give a shit about it, which is kind of in line with how I percieved the demand for 3D content.

I hope nobody was buying either machine for launch exclusives (although Forza looks good if you like Forza games). In other hilarious news Activision have blamed 'configuration problems' for shipping Ghosts at 720P on PS4, to be addressed in a day 1 patch. Given that my shrink wrapped copy of PS4 Ghosts has been sat here for well over a week, this seems like something they had time to discover and fix before going gold.

In the future, I would not be surprised to see certain multiplatform PS4 games deliberately locked at 720p to avoid ruffling feathers with Microsoft, even if the hardware can handle more.

Common speculation, but honestly - the first party titles and exclusives would then just make all the cross platform games look bad on the system, so hopefully this won't come to pass. This is such a world away from last time around where both machines had similar potential but one was difficult to unlock. This time even when the Xbone is understood it's still obviously lower spec. They'll have to rely on brand recognition and software, all is lost on the hardware side.

I think people are realizing that commercial 3D really isn't as far along as they would like it to go. Walt Disney World's 3D movies from the 90s still have way more popout than modern 3D content. Far stuff really looked like they were behind the screen, and I would've bet money the close stuff was right in front of me. I would definitely pay extra for that, and I think many folks would. But the 3D movies and games I see now just means we get a little more depth to the picture, hardly worth the extra cost and hassle of glasses.

And on a related matter, since the folks behind the Oculus Rift said they don't foresee console support, I'm still skeptical as to what it offers that will distinguish it above the slew of past failed VR displays. I'm confident that lifelike visuals and some form of 3D and/or VR is key but as with 3D, are we there yet (assuming the Oculus is released soon)? I'd urge folks to do their research and test a unit out if they can before they make a purchase.

3D porn / waifu molestation is the killer app for Oculus Rift. I absolutely do not understand the buzz around this one, does anyone really want to sit there wearing a fucking helmet? This is one of the reasons 3D failed, nobody wants to wear it.

Much like tha Gamepad for the Wii U, the Kinect is what hampers the XBone. Such a shame. But in some ways, a good thing.

With rumours of a XBone division sell off, and with this new generation looking to last even longer, the industry could finally be looking at a "standard" in the form of the PS4.

Patcher... Eat your heart out.

It's an incredibly successful gimmick, much like the kind of stuff Nintendo have been relying on for two consoles.
