So what do you guys think of Sturmwind?
On the Dreamcast
Re: So what do you guys think of Sturmwind?
When I initially played it,I thought, looks nice, sounds good but felt a bit hollow to play, couldn't tell what was going to kill me or not.dismissed it,put it back in the box (got the LE) and it sat on the shelf for months.
However,I dug it out again last week, realising I hadn't given it chance.I literally spent a day playing it,the more I played, the more I loved it.i thought it was really fun! Got 1cc off arcade mode but I was drained after wading through the normal mode! That's what took up all day!
It is a fun shooter IMO.It can't be denied that it looks and sounds great but I guess there plenty of people that think it sucks or is just average...maybe it is,but I had fun with it.

I did a review for it. Besides what was stated, I thought it was really fun.
Absolutely everything in the game moves. While it is cool, there are some things that will kill you if you hit them, and in some sections, it is very difficult to tell what are just moving background pieces and what are pieces of background that do damage.
They also claimed there are over 100 enemies, but it did not seem like that high of a number. Many enemies just seemed to be repainted.
I am talking about the negatives, but I really enjoyed this game. The weapon system reminded me of a really simple version of Undead Line.
Also, be prepared for some bosses and levels being things you have seen before. Many things in the levels are either copies from other games, or homages to games. One boss, and I trust his word for it, Seraxor said was a rip from Axelay (I have yet to play Axelay, so I assume Seraxor knows what he is talking about, since he normally does). In one of the underwater levels, you can actually see Tetris pieces falling in the background (they are very apparently Tetris pieces). Now, I still consider myself new to shmups, so there is probably much more in this game that I missed that pays homage to other shmups. Oh, one thing is that they had multiple parts like Battle Mania where the game appears to be horizontal, but moved vertical (sure, Battle Mania may not be the first to do that, but it is the one I remember that does it).
Honestly, I think if you own the game, you might as well play through it. It is pretty fun.
Also, here is the link to my review:

There's already a thread for this game, so I'm locking this one.
