bee slayer poll

Post by Captain »

It just occurred to me to make a hibachi-killer poll and check the status on beekeeping here.
so without further ado.

DFK and SDOJ. I assume dumb arrange modes don't count.

Only if you count SDOJ 360 mode shot-type... which you probably shouldn't.

If I shot down everybody at a Hibachi grill restaurant does it count? Did I have to shoot the grills too? Am I taking shmups too far? What do we know about the world?

A few days ago I managed to beat Hibachi in SDOJ Novice Training mode on one credit (i.e. I just did the fight against Hibachi). I thought that was quite an achievement, even though is "doesn't count".

Haven't beaten any. Not yet. I've got close to reaching two I guess. DDP and DOJ.

Not counting DOJBL 1 loop, nomiss up to st5 boss is a guaranteed clear pretty much. 3 miss Hibachi also isn't very hard for a good player.

Best post from a lurker (or aparrent lurker, just casting judgement that's all) I've seen on shmupsforum.

Almost as good as the "I got fired from my job for trying to milk my boss....." post from way back.

Good on ya.

Oh also: Never.

I /reached/ Hibachi in Trigonometry Wars 4 in Death Label mode a few times, but never won. I did make her "surrender" once, though. Basically, the game glitched, and, between her first and second phases, she flew offscreen and never came back. I've started calling her TW4 incarnation "Coward Hibachi" as a result.

Even that doesn't really count because I used a slightly modded copy of the game, but still :3

But actually I don't care much about Hibachi; I focus more on older games

I'd count DFK Arrange A or SDOJ 360 Laser/Expert as well if you have those since the difficulty seems fair enough. But I don't even have those.

I've only done DFK Novice and SDOJ 360 Shot, and AI to help with the Arcade Hibachi which I don't think should really count. So none for me.

I do want to beat DonPachi and DoDonPachi DOJ someday, but I don't like the other games enough to do so.

Sorry to quote a post that is so far up on the page, but when I read this I had a flashback to this one time when my little sister burned her hand on the stove, because she is a little grill and when you touch hot things people typically describe it as pain "shooting" up your arm or something (even though I typcailly haven't had that nervous response in such situations. Okay I mean yeah biologically right there is a nerve sending the pain signal over to your spine and up to your brain but like seriously idiom-makers, you don't _actually_ feel it all the way up).

Anyways, while I'm quoting you, I would like to respond to your last query, i.e. "What do we know about the world?" While I do not claim to know very much about the world, I've actually learned a thing or two about bees, which maybe the participants in this thread would be interested in learning as well. But first, let me build some ethos. Technically, we aren't allowed to keep pets in the dorm, with the exception of fish. However, I know for a fact that my Residential Assistants or whatever keep some kind of flower or plant or whatever, because I guess plants aren't living things in the eyes of the administration. Piggy backing on this idea, I went dumpster diving and built a cardboard beehive in my dorm room, since I read on a DIY site that keeping a beehive is basically like tending a garden. It's a bit difficult to manage sometimes without a smoker, but you get used to the stings, and the bees get used to you, so it's all chill as long as you have four balls (get it? get it? like, grow a pair, but you already have a pair, so then you have 4, hahaha xD). It's actually pretty great, on days where I don't want to leave my room I can just get all natural honey literally an arms reach away, and if I have to stay in my room for a long time because there's a riot outside I can always eat the bees for protein. You would think the bees would be mad at me for consuming them and their livelihood in this manner, but like, look, I'm protecting them from an icy cold winter that would inevitably spell their doom, they better damn well be grateful.

Anyways, uh, what was I going to say. I've actually completely forgotten. I'll edit this post if I remember. I feel like it had someting to do with the symmetry groups of the waggle dance but I don't remember what the point was.
