So...uhh...I saw a few deputies and national guard meeting gruesome ends. Other than a few accidents, I don't quite remember First Blood going that way.

Other than that, I saw very little gameplay and a horrible Stallone character model.

So what were you actually trying to link to? The VHS redband trailer?

Looks like Way of the Samurai 3 (360 port) to me, down to the character model.

I ... like it. It looks like it might be some fun garbage for a weekend playthrough.

I definitely pumped for it. I don't care what it looks like, as long as I get to play as John Rambo. I've been waiting for a game like this forever. Rambo III for Genesis is the ultimate Rambo game in my opinion, but after Rambo(4), we needed a modern action game. Hope this was worth the wait!

First Blood with rampant cop and weekend reservist killing action seems a bit goofy, tbh. Guess they can't make it a survival adventure with the occasional rock-chucking QTE though.

Just picked up a copy of this for my MD. Game owns, Commando-style. Another candidate for the great slowdown thread when you put it on Hardest and hose down a dozen advancing commies with the spray n' pray. *buddabuddabudda* plus AUTHENTIC KNIFING ACTION (sneak up on and knife motherfuckers for chaining score bonuses + ammo for the other two special weapons! Actually forget sneaking, you can flat-out rush in stab if you accept that a split-second's hesitation = get shot). And the frickin' awesome charge shot flamey arrows.

I was scouring IMDB to see whether that was really Rutger Hauer's digitised thousand yard stare in stage 2, no luck though. THIS DUNGEON WILL EXPLODE IN TWO MINUTES. Thanks chum!

You guys just cost me £10 after watching a MD Rambo III video. Found a JP copy in the UK. Probably developed in the west of course but my machine is unmodified.

I've a hunch it and Mystic Defender/Kujaku Ou 2 share at least some of the same Japanese team from Jewel Master (unfortunately only JM has a staff roll). Besides graphical and audio similarities, and a fondness for charge meters in Rambo and MD, all three share a distinct, sparingly animated and crisply responsive feel. Some of my favourite lesser-feted Mega Drive games. None push the hardware or are particularly ambitious, but they're simplicity done right.

Rambo 3 -Dedicated to the freedom fighters of the Mujahideen.

Now THERE's a movie that hasn't aged well!

I guess that explains why Rambo is busy killing american cops in this new game.
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

I re-watched "The Living Daylights" last weekend. Yeah, I totally didn't remember him riding with the Mujahideen.

Whoops.

Ask yourself whether the you of the nineteen-eighties would know what you're posting about. Game engine? What is it?

I don't know if I'd know what a game engine is, but I could tell if a polygon-based game character had a face that resembled a cardboard cutout.

If you can't remember FX Fighter (running at varying speed, depending on the computer), you might not really be the target audience.

Shame that the Sega 2008 arcade Rambo gun game hasn't been done for Move (and on another story, Virtua Cop 3).
Kinect? KIN NOT.

^Yeah, seriously. I don't want to have to import an entire damn cabinet to get my Rambo fix.

Unlikely to be as good a game, but the response (to trailers) reminds me of game journalism writers' and readers' respone to Ghost Squad: everybody embarrassed by just how badly they needed it.
