The roms work in the other build of mame I was using to play these, and all the other roms work great in both builds, so I'm not sure why these are not working. Not really a big deal, but (If I ever find a DFK dump) it would be nice to have them all working in one build.
All SH3 games have been reorganized i.e. parent - clone relationships have changed, you need to rebuild your ROM collection using CLRMAME or something similar.

got a slight problem. dunno if this related to older roms not compatible with this umetest3 build. espgaluda2 shows insert E coins. unplayable since all my coin input (including 9) didnt work.

The DFK supported-UME is marked ume150x3_test2.exe in the extractor. Either you've got a fake build or it corrupted somehow, because I tested ESPGaluda II on it and it ran fine for me.

my bad. it was the right exe. too much numbers in the exe though made me confused.
however, solved the problem. went into the service menu, reapply the settings like coin, extends etc inside the menu, save. now its playable.
deathsmiles can only be launched using cmd. keep saying require correct roms. plus i got no clue about how to use clrmamepro.

is there any point in using this test version actually? or does it change anything besides adding undumped games?

um, i don't know. i know pretty much nothing about mame developing.

it's just that dfk has been mentioned in this topic which is supposed to be undumped ?

Besides Pink Sweets, those games work pretty good on my Athlon II X2 240 (oc at 3,4 GHz). As i mentioned before there is a HUGE performance boost from the Slowpoke builds to those new UME 150 ones, so i think it's safe to say that for a "supposed to be dead project" this one is pretty alive.

And if I have my way, it shall be dead. Of course, it might be a while until that happens, but it will happen. :)

When I say gross I mean there are claims it runs Raiden DX, when really it is preconfigured to run the PSX verison of Raiden DX set to TATE so that it runs in a 'vertical' resoultion using a save state to boot you straight to the mode select.

OK, the PSX version isn't terrible.. but still, gross.

I was actually starting to think the site going down might've been a dummy spit until I noticed Kale's page was also down (so, all of mamedev.emulab.it).

Anyway, I guess cat's out of the bag. Never thought I'd see the day where that photoshopped picture of DFK in MAME from 2011 actually became reality.

Hopefully MAMEdev include this officially at the end of the year, but perhaps like last time this business with the leaking will make the devs go "FUCK YOU" and just leave it to the leaked builds to do the job.

Can't say when those occurred but I suspect it's when I saw the stage 2 boss flicker for one second back to its standing doll pose instead of the "blowing up" doll pose as I killed it off.

No. Instead bomb icons give you full amount of bombs iirc.

Way too soon? MAME usually waits at least three years before including it in their builds and it might take even longer than that for the game to actually be playable. DFK has been out for 5 1/2 years and the others have been out for even longer than that. Espgaluda II and Ibara were released in arcades eight years ago. As far as it being too soon to dump something, well, people can dump it all they want. They won't be able to play it until it's included in the build.

Can you actually get to this thing via a Google search? A yes or no is enough. Just wanna make sure I don't spend the next 4 hours on there in vain.

Out of curiosity - is this a new situation where a developer asks to stop MAME implementing a driver? And would it be a new situation if the MAME devs put in the code anyway?

Call me narrow minded - but why is that? I understand that this is pretty soon from the release of the game, but is there really any harm to be expected? I guess that this won't stop PCB elitists from buying the game (although i can imagine that whoever wanted the game, got it until now) and i highly doubt that it would stop anyone from buying the game for consoles either. The XBOX360 port just adds so much more content to the game that it would be foolish not to buy it if you like it.

On the contrary, similar to how mp3 sharing is supposed to higher sales, i could imagine that more people would get to know danmaku shmups and maybe even buy them afterwards.

Realistically, not a chance in hell. If it were to get back in officially at least deriative builds including it and other hacky crap would probably end in favour of the official builds or more safe custom builds, and there's the matter of two new games added to the list of emulated titles, so you could say it'd make a "new situation" if it went back to mainline.

I'd quote Haze's blog but it's down - he had a reference page where he said something to the words of assisting someone on privately working on the driver for *possible*, NOT definite, reinclusion at the end of the year. This wouldn't be the first time something along these lines have happened: as I recall there was mention of Tetris the Grand Master getting C&Ded by Arika only to get reincluded several releases later once the storm had blown over (forgive me if I got some details wrong there).

Mind you this whole thing's been a drop in the ocean compared to the driver copyright crap everyone got so worked over. Perhaps this will get silently put in and no one will notice/care, but I think it's more likely that Haze was the only MAMEdev (official or not) who'd even consider putting it back in officially, and thanks to the copyright dispute any kindness towards agreeing with Haze on this matter by the other devs is pretty much nil.

/Red Dwarf Cat

So what is it?

Edit: sorry, a bit vague perhaps.

Let's say I have a PAL 360, and I have everything Cave-ey that it is possible to play on that (the region free stuff, the PAL releases).
I also have the slowpoke build, but seemingly, the one game I was bothered about (Ibara) wouldn't run at anything better than about 90%.

Bearing the above in mind: is this something I should bother with at all?
I'm really not bothered about collecting teh romzors, or even having access to all the games in one location (would be nice... but no, not that bothered).
I'd just like to be able to play the games, really.
(Hell, if Cave did give me the option of buying Ibara off of them, I'd buy the very fuck out of it. YOU HEAR THAT, CAVE? YOU MOTHERS? THE. VERY. FUCK.)

Edit2:
I just realised (as I often do) that I could have just said: will this run Ibara better than the slowpoke edition?
