Yeah, that's what I'm reading too.

It has it written first in traditional Japanese (pretty much all kanji) and then written in Anglified katakana.

I emailed NCSX to see if they were opening preorders and they wrote back that their Taito vendo has not confirmed. I always believe these things when NCSX opens up preorders.

oh plz taito let me feel the pain.
They should make it even harder. Stop being pussies.

I doubt the default difficulty will be tampered with, but the odds are the game will have an option to change the difficulty, just like pretty much every previous arcade port. The Ibara PCB has dip switches for this as well, no?

But if Taito includes a practice mode where the rank can be tweaked to just what one wants...well, that'd be very nice of them.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

No one said that they DON'T want the game to be super hard, Valgar. All I meant to say is that it won't do well on the market if it's nearly impossibly difficult for your ordinary gamer. Offering multiple difficulty settings may be the best solution. It is important to me that the game do reasonable well in sales for all the obvious reasons.

Thank god! I was worried I'd never get to play this one (either coz it didn't do well in the arcades or because of the ps2->p23 shuffle). Overjoyed because this is something very different for Cave. I really don't care if it isn't their best (or any other negative reviews), just want to play something by cave that is DIFFERENT.

LOL at the message to the masses. For the kanji lessons, relax that was just generic TGS picture #39.

Last time Mushime showed up in P-As shop we email them to ask how, they told us that information about new games always came from there reliable distributors.

I hope some cute merchandise will emigre from this project.

The game is going to be targeted towards a niche audience and nobody else. ESPGaluda and the others sold like crap and they KNEW they were going to sell like crap.

Of course they're targeting a niche audience. My thought was that they didn't do this very well with the arcade version of Ibara. And, while I haven't played the game, what I heard was that the game was problematic in part because the difficulty was imbalanced. Perhaps this is wrong. Perhaps there's nothing to fix. But if the game is screwed up, hopefully they will address this and avoid the crappy reception that the arcade version received.

Even though it's more Raizing that I'd like, I still have to like it whenever a Cave title gets ported. I'm buying it out of principle ;)

More Raizing? Hell it's all Raizing! There is like next to ZERO Cave like stylings or traditions in this game. In fact the only visible connection to the other Cave games is the Cave logo at the start of the demo movies, and the use if the same artist from Mushihimesamma.

I don't actually recall ever saying the game is too hard, at least, the game is never unfair. The game will be very difficult to players not accustomed to this kind of gameplay style, as it's a far cry from the kind of stuff in the pink bullet-infested games that most are used to - restrictions on weaponry, taking apart bosses piece by piece, suicidal tactics, LOTS OF DELICIOUS DEBRIS - but hey, I'd take this kind of game any day of the week.

I'm not an expert player though, and I am not worthy of that kind of tag. ^_-

And it's good news on the PS2 port. Everyone knew that Ibara would be getting lined up to appear, especially with Taito handling the port arrangements. My only thoughts are: they better not botch up the conversion; some nice extras like Garegga secret ships would be nice ^_- ; maybe an OST or figurine bundled with the LE (I'd buy it six times over to get the complete set ^_- ) ; and maybe a bit of netranking.

At least we can be hopeful that Espgaluda2 might be considered in the near future, given that Mushi and now Ibara have now been listed as PS2 software.

You guys are in for a treat.
AND YOU BETTER PARTICIPATE IN THE HIGHSCORE THREAD! ^_-

Really looking forward to this release

Even looking forward to the inevitable rank arguments once it starts to piss people off :D

Slightly OT, but does anyone know how well they actually sold?

Surely they must make something in order to keep releasing them, especially when Ibara wasn't even as sucessful as previous games and so you would assume not sell as well as Mushi.

Yeah, good point. But there is little doubt that they will include the arcade version, as Taito did with Raiden III, which also includes a Normal version in addition to Arcade. At any rate, I would be pissed if they didn't include the Arcade verion.

I would be perfectly happy with just a straight ahead port (w/no extras), as long as they provide an option for NON-INTERLACED VIDEO (a.k.a lowres). You'd think with such a small target audience that Taito would pick up on something as simple this!

I think they'll include easy/normal/hard/very hard as usual for Cave games. My 2 cent

Awesome news, I can't wait to see how similar it feels to Garegga and Bakraid.

This is great news. I've been playing Ibara a fair amount lately in a nearby arcade and do find the difficulty a bit off, but I think it's something that can be dealt with. I really love the weapon system in this game, though, and blowing bosses up piece by piece is just too fun. I'll be sure to pick up this port.

It would be great if it's true, but I'll believe this when I hear it from Taito and/or Cave.
Ouch, how could I forget their Xexex listing, good point 'tho that was more on the end of the liscence cancelling the game IIRC.
