Back after a 4 year break

Hi Guys

Been away for a while.. (Long time) But I have a hunger to play some new shmups. Is there a list of Xbox 360 or PS3 games that are available? I also have the latest DC shmup from NG-Dev on the way as well.

Sorry for being a noob, but its all a bit unfathomable to catch up after such a long time.

If you're talking strictly the last 4 years then I can probably give you a few suggestions:

Well on 360: R-Type Dimensions, Senko no Ronde DUO, Ginga Force, DoDonpachi Saidaioujou, Eschatos and Radiant Silvergun. As for PS3 there still isn't much on there shmup wise but there is Under Defeat HD, Mamorukun Curse, Ketsui, Zanac x Zanac, Raiden III, Shienryu and apparently Gradius V soon. Mix of old and new on both systems. This isn't a comprehensive list more as it is just shmups I recommend.

Also since Irem closed down, all things associated with R-Type digitally (san R-Type Dimensions) are delisted meaning classics like R-Type Delta and R-Type Third Lightning are only physically available now and they've spiked up in value so that kind of sucks if you like that series.

lolwut? It's 2013 now. Considering the 360 and PS3 has the same games and the PS3 has more exclusives that doesn't make any sense. It just depends on the kind of games you play. I play a lot of everything so I guess it caters more towards what I'm looking for. Personally I'm only missing out on Radiant Silvergun, Ginga Force, SDOJ, Strania and Senko no Ronde DUO. I'd like to play Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey again but I don't even have time for RPGs like that anymore. *shrugs

The funny thing is I hate most Sony first party exclusives lol. I'm not much of a "movie game" guy. I like arcade-y or pre-current gen era style games.

Nah you're right as far as shmups go. I guess Ketsui and Mamorukun while not technically exclusive would be exclusive to those without Japanese 360s. Like I said though, you can't really say it has NO games though. (semantics but it was the way it was worded. No offensive intended but I follow what you're saying though)

Well, it's an STG related forum, so it's not much of an exaggeration to say that the PS3 still has no games.
