Because: What is your favorite shmup music? & Is there any sort of consensus on the best shmup OSTs? Going by that, let's try doing a similar poll for shmup OSTs.
Obviously, there will be people that will not take well to trying to gather an objective consensus for something that they consider as a very subjective opinion. However, gathering an objective consensus from subjective opinions is how all "Top/Greatest" lists are done, whether it be in music, TV, movies, and of course also video games (like the annual top shmups poll). So I think this should also be given as fair a chance as any other of those polls provided enough people are interested enough to participate.
Voting
(we'll follow Moniker's system of voting that he used to build the Top Doujin Shmups list)
- Participants get 20 points to distribute among at least five (5) titles. Assign the highest number to the highest rank and distribute the points to all other titles as you see fit.
- You may distribute scores in increments of 0.5 points.
- For example:

M.U.S.H.A. - 5.5 Raiden Fighters Jet - 4 Ketsui - 3 DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou - 3 Thunder Force IV - 2 Hellfire - 1.5 Battle Garegga - 1 - So as long as you choose at least five (5) titles and your votes add up to 20, your votes will qualify.
- Any type of shmup should qualify for voting.
- You may edit and re-edit your votes as much as you feel is necessary until the deadline.
- Different editions of soundtracks (e.g. - Arrange) will be tallied as separate entries.
- Votes will be counted through December 4.
