Let me start off by saying that I am completely new to shmups and I apologize for the this question in advance. I own a madcatz arcade stick for the 360 and i have been experimenting with a few cave games I grabbed off amazon. On the top of the stick there is an option to toggle between a LS (left stick) option and a DP (dpad) option. I tried to switch between the two but it seems that when I am in the left stick option I have very little control over my ship. Am I correct in assuming that I should be using the dpad option?
I looked for a section where beginners can ask stupid questions, but I didn't end up finding one. If this thread needs to moved feel free to let me know.

.I would leave it on DP unless you have some reason to change it.
