This one is the only one (and probably only range finder from this era) to go to ISO 1600. I think this one was like 1600 yen or something... really cheap. I've yet to open it and look though. Not the smallest in the world, but it'll do. I will get the CCN... the only one w/ a 35mm lens in the series, but will continually bunch myself in the cock over the fact that the fastest speed is 1/250. (I think all the other electros go to 1/500). In the cloudy weather it's no big deal, but in really bright light, you will basically not get to shoot with nice bokeh.

I got a Lefty RX today!

She's a little rough round the edges but nothing a quick scrub, clean pants and a splash of Brut won't cure! Considering she is from 1972, she's aged well and will soon be ready to hit the streets of Dublin with the ability to only turn left! HURRAH! :D

Jeffry P. Zeddamore-Fartcups hooked me up with this all-terrain sex act and even chucked in some Calbee pizza crisps by special request. TWO PACKS EVEN! ....oh and this thing that looks like squirrel shit, but tastes scrummybummy! :D

Image

Check out the old school Nintendo logo! This was before they made video games (I think). 8)

I LOVE MY LEFTY!!!!

Shit... see you at the finish line (of your bank account). Tomika really knows how to tap into the ADHD side of any kid whether they have it or not, so my kid really went bananas. No shit, he used to watch the Commercial Collection DVD... it's like an hour of commercials. I assume you've been to Tomika Town? There's one in Tokyo Station... the most boring place to shop in town.

Wow, that is a kick-ass Famicom/NES collection right there! The system is the US top-loader, right? Is it RGB modded, or is it just generally expensive?

Yes, it's the US top loader. It's just generally kind of expensive, for a boxed one. I'm gonna get it RGB modded next year, so that'll be another big chunk of change. And there's another batch of games I gotta get too. Expensive hobby!

Should be the same era, right?

Some of the old rangefinders are really great looking.

But my main question is - are you still able to find film and get it developed?

For myself, I just like adapting M42 lenses to my Canon. Much shorter turnaround on development, and using the old lenses gets you most of the way to reproducing that classic look (color balancing for something like Kodachrome can be done too with some plugin software for various photo processing apps).

I do like that there is finally a trend towards rangefinder-size cameras again, like the EOS M, but they sure don't have the style of the old rangefinders. Of course Leica has been making these for the better part of a decade now, at least, but their stuff isn't about affordability.

G-Con 2 I bought with Ninja Assault in mind didn't quite work, but the seller offered this to compensate.

Image

Funnily enough, I have to select 60 Hz in Guncon 2 mode (the game's quirk?), then swap the plugs and choose Guncon mode to calibrate.
Still not sure how playable Ninja Assault is with it, but I'm gonna check it out soon.

I have the GX and GSN, both of which go to 1000. I'd never use those tricks though. I'm not that good.
But my main question is - are you still able to find film and get it developed?
Yes. I can ride my bike 15 minutes and go to Yodobashi camera and buy just about any film that is sold in Japan. There isn't the selection there used to be (Kodak is out of the reversal film game) but it's good enough. I've even found some places (mainly online, but one brick & mortar) that carry the European films (mainly B&W, and they're awesome) for very competitive prices.

In that same area, there are 3 places I can get film developed. Each has their pros and cons. Bic Camera will cross process cheaply, and they'll do reversals quickly. Camera Kitamura will do color negatives (just about any kind) in less than an hour, but they take ages for reversal or B&W. Yodobashi is kind of a good all-arounder.

I can develop B&W at home in less than an hour. I actually ordered a C41 kit as well.
For myself, I just like adapting M42 lenses to my Canon. Much shorter turnaround on development, and using the old lenses gets you most of the way to reproducing that classic look (color balancing for something like Kodachrome can be done too with some plugin software for various photo processing apps).
Vintage lenses work well on Canon's. They aren't w/o caveat (the AF feedback is usually not accurate w/ adjustment, and manual focus through the finder is impossible w/o an upgraded focusing screen) but it can be done. I got sick of these workarounds and just decided to get some old cameras and lenses. You will also not get film grain, and you'll get whatever saturation, contrast, and white balance your camera likes. All this can be edited to your liking in post, of course. I just wanted to go back to the old process.
I do like that there is finally a trend towards rangefinder-size cameras again, like the EOS M, but they sure don't have the style of the old rangefinders. Of course Leica has been making these for the better part of a decade now, at least, but their stuff isn't about affordability.
The EOS M has gotten a terrible rap. Canon is taking a beating for it, as they should. They haven't really supported the format much, and the AF is not up to scratch from what I hear. Sony has definitely upped the "small but awesome" camera game. In fact, they're now untouched other than Leica, but Leica isn't going to appeal even close to the same market. What consumer would pay $10,000 for a setup that doesn't auto-focus?

Many thanks to rancor for the 2 DDP ship kits!
Going to get to work on them along with Ikaruga kits that I've stored up in a few weeks time once uni final exams are all over.
Also got to get the other A.I. kit sometime soon as well.

(Looks like image link didn't work, I'll fix sometime it soon).

Just buy some white buttons and swap them over, takes three minutes. That's what I did.
