Taiko drums for Wii?

Are the official Taiko drums for Wii worth paying for? Do they work on a PC by connecting the Wiimote to the computer in order to play osu! ?

You can also get Wii -> USB adapters.

I haven't tried the taiko drums, but probably they just mimic a couple of buttons on the remote, so should be no issues mapping them in Dolphin.
