Blazing Lazers/Gunhed Soundtrack Listing
Blazing Lazers/Gunhed Soundtrack Listing
Been a while since I posted here! I am going through my game music collection, trying to clean up ID3 tags, etc., and as I rip various sound formats to .WAV or .MP3 for use on my phone, I noticed that .HES files (TG16/PCE sound format) aren't always tagged, or perhaps don't store any tagged info about the composer or track. Thus, there's no "track list" information regarding the game from most of those files. I'd like to get the soundtrack for Blazing Lazers on my phone, because though I haven't played it much since I 1CC'd the game a year and a half ago, I do enjoy the music. Does anyone know if the songs in the game have proper names at all, or who composed the music? The Wikipedia article lists the designers, but no mention is made of the composer(s). I've also done some searching through official VG OST listings, and haven't found anything listed under either 'Blazing Lazers' or 'Gunhed'. Does anyone know if the tracks in the game have proper names, or if they're literally 01, 02, 03, etc.? Any help/info would be appreciated.

Unknown composer. AFAIK the tracks don't have names, they are known as Stage 1/Area 1, Boss, etc.

MIYAMO, J.T.S, MATS, SYDON, OZONO and TAKEUCHI. I still don't know where those track names came from.

I just noticed that the version of this game available on the Japanese PSN is not Gunhed, but Blazing Lazers. Licensing issues, maybe?

Re: Blazing Lazers/Gunhed Soundtrack Listing
likely.
iirc, those track names are the names of the bosses. from what i see, the hes set (from which these uploads are probably derived) uses the same titles.

Thank you, this will at least get me some track titles that will be more than just "Area 1", "Area 2", etc.tinotormed wrote:It was in this youtube playlist.
Thanks, this will be good to have at least some composer info attached to the files. My guess is, the .HES set I downloaded just doesn't have any info embedded in the file, because all tracks show up as "? - ?" instead of "Composer - Title". Maybe I need to look for a replacement .HES set, but at least this gets me what I need in the interim. Thanks for the help, everyone!KAI wrote:MIYAMO, J.T.S, MATS, SYDON, OZONO and TAKEUCHI. HES file format doesn't have any internal provision for tagging, most should include a separate M3U playlist file with those details.

Re: Blazing Lazers/Gunhed Soundtrack Listing
Interesting that you say that - I did some comparisons between the various YT playlists and the contents of the .HES file I have, and then I went back and tagged those individual tracks using Foobar2000. I guess it might depend on how the file is created/dumped?nZero wrote:HES file format doesn't have any internal provision for tagging, most should include a separate M3U playlist file with those details.
