I was thinking to myself, will I drop this hobby when I get "over the hill"? I didn't come to a conclusion on that, however, I wanted to know who our oldest and youngest STG enthusiasts are and how long have they been playing? I predict left skewness, jokes/philosophical statements on what age/time is in relation to playing shmups but do refrain, I'm just looking for serious,hard numbers please. :)

edit: I'm assuming skykid is lying about being 69 :roll:

So far 50 is our oldest
So far 18 is our youngest
=32 year range

29. Which i'd be fine with if I hadn't just started University as a mature student, i'm now surrounded by people who are ~10 years younger than me. One of them asked me the other day if I used to watch films on VHS, apparently he'd never watched one.

I'm 34. I've seen all manner of shoot 'em ups come and go. On so many different gaming systems... I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe...hahaha! Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those... moments... will be lost in time, like... tears... in... rain. Time... to die...

19, and only got into the genre a year ago.

Looks like trap15 finally lapped me, I know we were the same age a couple of months ago.

Hey, speaking of which, let's post birthdays in here too. That way we can give everyone presents!
