When you get a response like that, it means the cabinet has had the seller's mental diabetes and cockroaches crawled out of his anus into the wiring. You ain't got time fo dat.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
People giving me 1 (one) rating point on Pixiv. Fuck, I'm not that bad.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Pixiv's nonexistent member search function (I can find like six "Kai" artists on Pixiv in Google's first page of results, at least, but not the one I was looking for. Oh, look, bunneh :3 )
Just going out on a limb here: People who don't know that Pixiv doesn't have unlimited tags, or that it is a Japanese site where having at least a few Japanese tags is a good idea!
It seems strange to me that people would downvote Kai's artwork - there is a lot of stuff on there that is plain bad, but is generally ignored and not molested.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
These days some chinese guy messaged me on PSN. He wants to borrow my account so he can download some DLC that the store doesn't sell anymore. He promised to give me a code for a $30 PSN card after downloading my stuff. Included with the message is a pic of a classy chinese lady.
1. If this guy is chinese, it's unlikely he has a north-american PSN card with him.
2. He promised to give me a code for a $30 card, but only $20 and $50 cards exists.
3. Assuming this is all true and it's a girl messaging me, does she really need to show me her face? I'm almost tempted to put the pic on Google Images to see where it's really from.
So, what are the chances of this being a scam? 99% or 100%?
(Not really annoying, I just found it amusing enough to mention it)

Just point him in the direction of the closest deposed general of a warring nation. I'm sure he could pay for it with the millions of dollars he needs to smuggle out of the country.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Amazon.
Selected two days shipping. Package gets shipped through that UPS thing that ends up being delivered by USPS. Still not here. Almost certain that if I selected standard shipping, my delivery time would be the same.

Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Art sites
- why do you take up so much time
The worst is Deviantart, not because it takes up my time, but because it is so poorly organized and so full of shit at the same time that a few talented artists post stuff there because it is apparently still supposed to be The Site; the ban on "adult" content seriously hasn't made it safer for my mind. Easily 90% of the stuff on there is just terrible but a special subset of that is mind-scarring. Example (which I would call NSFW for the most part, but isn't exactly "family unfriendly;" it's just bizarre, awkward, and offputting): Everything this guy (again I will urge you to reconsider clicking this link unless you have an amazing sense of humor and mental fortitude) does. Why did I stumble upon this? I'm sure I didn't ask for that, nor for a sizable portion of the other tons of stuff that comes up. If a word in your search happens to match an artist's handle, you'd better hope you're interested because you're going to see all their stuff anyway D:
It also sucks to load everything at full rez, eating bandwidth while perpetuating a sin as you are virtually guaranteed to meet ocular horrors like the above. You will definitely suffer like G did.
It basically reinforces what Kai said. There's being harmless and learning...then there's furiously massaging a mental tic (in the DSM-V, photomanipulation is considered a less adaptive trait than betwetting, and only marginally less at-risk for self-harm than somebody who fantasizes about being a paint-filled sausage fought over by a pack of chained feathery dinosaurs drowning on the Titanic).

The fact that there's NO retro gaming expo here in Denver. I saw a lot of great stuff from the recent Portland Retro Gaming Expo on Youtube, and I wish I could have gone, but there's no good reason why we can't have one here in Denver. I'm a Denver native, I'm 36, and I've watched the Denver Metro Area explode in growth in the last 23 years. There are enough people here that it would work, but I have no idea how to get something like a retro gaming expo going. And I would love to, or at least love to help.

Essentially they do, but they apparently have some strange limits on it. Basically, I think all the arty types decided that they couldn't ban everybody's just-getting-started naked chick/guy poses, but seeing somebody moist or erect is straight. OUT. DA got overran by tons of artwork ,some are incredible ,some are horrible.
The worst part is ,people who pick daily deviation to promote seems to don't really know which one is really good one. Sometimes they pick very awesome art, sometimes they pick very shitty art.
That said, if you want to see really good art ,CGhub seems to have better overall quality compared to DA.

Now that I think about it, I think I miss the inappropriate boner. I only get them going to work. Is this adulthood? Is work the only good way to get a boner now?

You talk about boners before work, and I'm hearing a man that really loves his job.
I used to get stiff wood on the bus.. All that shaking, jostling, and rumbling.. with the uniformed H.S. girls.. oh god.. brb.

So. I've been on DA since the summer of 2004 (and let's ignore that I haven't been active at all at least the last two years) - why are so many western artists flocking to Pixiv now? I'm genuinely curious.
I thought Pixiv mostly was DA with a Japanese spin and most "english speakers" on there simply wanted to compete/interact with the jp artists. Nothing wrong with that, mind you. I feel that's incredibly brave, if anything.
But seeing as Pixiv actually is in english now - I'm a bit confused. What does it offer that DA doesn't? Since you can't snoop around too much on Pixiv without getting an account I haven't bothered and I hate creating accounts just for lurking

Enlighten me

Enlighten me. Also off-topic, I know.
Edit: There were times when DA got a bit stormy and people fled to other at the time fresh communities like Sheezy Art & Manga Bullet. Is it a bit like that?
CHECKPOINT!

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Pixiv in Japanese is easier to navigate and friendlier feeling than DeviantArt in English.
I don't know what the balance of horrendous to good art is on DA vs. Pixiv, but something about Pixiv users is such that even the really bad stuff is just off in its corner, mostly, not bothering anybody. Thumbnails definitely help with that. But there's definitely a content difference: One thing that I've noticed is the shit-ton of Elder Gods-approved photoshop manipulations (see above, or don't) and "self photo meme" shit that infests not only DA but even some other Western art sites isn't a thing. I suppose in comparison you could say Pixiv's "rampant diseases" are Touhou parodies and urban landscape artists using fisheye distortion...I'll take that trade.
In terms of "why would an artist go to Pixiv and not DA," there's a simple answer. You've got the R-18 tag (and similar, like R-15 and R-18G) to weed out things, if you'd like.
DA seems to suggest having a different category than Pixiv uses - "mature but not sexy we're arty guys okay srsly no sex in here at all" is apparently DA's stance and so you certainly do get arts of things that would get you laughed at forever on DA if you were caught looking - BUT they're just pixelated or in "not sexy!" poses. Some of this stuff is restricted by the artist's choice, and some isn't. I don't think that makes a difference. Pixiv's "R-18 or bust" stance might not make PC arty types who are perpetually in horror of porn, but still want their nude sketches, feel well-served, but that's not my problem. The only comparison I know of is that there is sometimes sexy stuff uploaded to Pixiv using the R-15 tag or without any age guideline tag, although I think if you put concrete examples of what can "slip through" on Pixiv next to what slips through DA, things tilt again towards Pixiv's favor. Pixiv's R-18 tag does a better job of protecting kids and the unwary from adult content.
There might be other factors but this is one that leaps out at me. There is a huge group of people that DA explicitly doesn't want and they will go to Pixiv. Meanwhile, DA's skirting about the issue is worrisome in itself.
Bottom line is that I think most artists who want to do adult art want to REALLY do adult art, meaning R-18 and over. So do their followers. The apparent DA "it's bad if it's sexy" rule instinctually doesn't make sense.
In other areas I think the sites are about same. Both seem to spam inboxes with information about contests and the like at similar rates - I don't know. Pixiv might actually send more things to email. They also have figured out a smarter (and more welcome) way of promoting contests by changing site icons slightly to reflect the theme and make you want to find out more. DA's people are still living in an age without rankings and where Web 2.0 means never changing your UI since before Web 2.0 became a thing, because what's cutting edge in 2005 (or whenever it was) is still cutting edge today, obviously.
Also my browser just loves me when I try to go through 1000 search results by loading and scrolling through the full resolution of EVERY picture, on THE SAME TAB, instead of flipping through pages of thumbnails.

One of my favorites from the three dragons, but I wasn't aware. If I'm way off, just humor me and say yes so I can go to sleep with pleasant dreams.

Just the most obvious angle where competition is exposing flaws in the Microsoft model. It's pretty devastating to think that in many ways you get much less out of your hardware than you would otherwise - even if you're plugged into a wall socket that platform is simply using more juice than it should.
