But I want Caladrius tomorrow, is there anyone who can deliver such a thing? Also, will there be a Supergun involved?
Anybody passing mine (Hackney) is welcome to collect it and my Japan 360.

Finally got into the top 50 of the Caladrius world leaderboards last night. Cannot get enough!

It was all about me putting my Chinese SFIV master training to practice tonight. All that nude meditation sitting under waterfalls paid off.

Oh, and James won in our competition on one of the worst shmups I've had the displeasure of being forced to play, so I bought him dinner.

Gutted to miss out last night. Sounds like a good one (anything that ruins Skykid pleases me.).

So - on for next week!?

Broke me as a man. Thankfully there were two losers involved so I had someone to share my pain.

Weekly Casino Crew Meet #5: Surprise Wednesday Edition

Date: Wednesday 16th October
Start Time: 6:30PM (large table booked: plenty of places and no waiting)
Venue: Loading Bar, 53 Rupert Street, Soho (inside MADD)
Website: http://loadingonline.co.uk/
Nearest Tube Station: Piccadilly Circus

After getting revenge for Joe's brother and watching Skykid 1CC Strider (good job!) at this week's meet, I asked to book a table next Thursday at the usual time - only to be told that Loading is already fully loaded that evening! So next week we'll be meeting on a Wednesday instead, unless there are any objections.

Wednesday's great for me, as I'm around the corner at BAFTA right before, so can 100% make it! With Caladrius, a 360 and even some wires!

Er... request not to bring Mushi 1.5?

I can bring Akai Katana (PAL) SDOJ (JP) and DDP 1.5 (PAL) - not sure which of those works with what system though?

On the road now, stick, cables, JPN 360 and games with me (my only 360 cables for an original 360 are RGB or VGA. Hopefully that will suffice).

Also, my bag ways a tonne with all this shit, so you better like Caladrius!

Weekly Casino Crew Meet #6: Wednesday Strikes Back

Start Time: 7:00PM (large table booked: plenty of places and no waiting)
Venue: Loading Bar, 53 Rupert Street, Soho (inside MADD)
Website: http://loadingonline.co.uk/

What do people think about having a shmup of the week for these meets? We could all vote on the game at Loading, practice it during the week, then trade tips and tricks / show off our mad skills at the next meet. Yea or nay?

It was a bit complicated discussing the scoring systems last week, so here are the very basics covered:

Akai Katana Slash - Get as much large Gold as possible.

Whilst in Ship mode collect green energy orbs (these allow you to turn into Phantom mode) and turquoise Steel orbs (to make Katanas)
In Phantom mode fire Steel into enemies to make Katanas - the more steel you fire, the more Katanas return.
Fire the Katanas into enemies by switching back to ship mode.
As the Katanas pass through enemies Large Gold is produced - collect the Gold!

Akai Katana Origin (arcade mode) - Get as much Large Circling Gold as possible.

Whilst in Ship mode collect energy to turn into Phantom.
In Phantom mode enemies killed with Laser spawn small Gold nuggets that circle you.
After a short time the Gold grows larger. Absorb the large circling Gold by turning back into Ship mode.

Mushi 1.5 Original (Normal and Max) - Get the counter as high as possible - it acts as a multiplier to everything.

Don't die, point blank enemies for large Gems, don't bomb.
The higher the counter, the faster the bullets.

Mushi 1.5 Maniac (Normal and Max) - Get the counter as high as possible by adding your option's mini-counters.

The overall counter raises when you kill enemies and collect Gems (I think)
Each option that follows you also has a mini counter.
As long as your option's laser is hitting an enemy it's mini-counter will increase.
You can add this amount to your overall counter by slowly tapping the Laser button about once per second (or set the auto fire rate to 10/1).
When the mini counters are large enough, stop slowly tapping Laser and button mash Rapid-fire instead (or set the auto rate to 1/4).
Basically every button tap adds the mini-counter to the overall counter. So if you have four options that each have a mini-counter of 100 tapping Laser will add 400 to your overall counter evey second. Button mashing rapid (say 10 times a second) will add 4000. Thats' why the counter skyrockets in replays.

Build up the mini-counters on larger enemies and cash in by button mashing rapid - repeat, repeat, repeat!

Anyone fancy chipping in on the Pink Sweets / Muchi arrange modes..?

I'll be there around 7 on Wednesday.

Scrotes - only just checked in after a week that has included two 18-hour working days already, so my forum performance has been pathetic. Like a fool I assumed we'd do Thursday this week. I literally just got in after journing from doing a talk at Earls Court. Can I face heading straight back out? Hmmm...

On a better note, freelance is finally evening out, and as of just a couple of hours ago, the mental work stopped, so I finally have that free time I've been longing for. So I should finally be more reliable (including on here!).

Last week was bloody ace, I agree. It's so great meeting up again.

But can I face setting back out!? gimme a bit to decide!

Weekly Casino Crew Meet #6 (Take 2)

Date: Thursday 24th October
Start Time: 7:00 PM (large table booked: plenty of places and no waiting)
Venue: Loading Bar, 53 Rupert Street, Soho (inside MADD)
Website: http://loadingonline.co.uk/
Nearest Tube Station: Piccadilly Circus

I made a mistake with the booking for this week's meet: it's actually this evening at 7:00 PM. My bad.
If anyone went to Loading yesterday only to find that it wasn't on, I'll buy you a drink of your choice next time to make up for it (dead serious about that).

[Edited to include new start time.]

Probably going to be more like 7.30pm for me. I've been delayed by NASA. Good excuse, but less than interesting reality! Anybody else apart from me and JDE heading in?

▲ We all tutned up the day before. Dan left in a signature huff, Chi and I finished Final Fight and left, and no-one else turned up. Sadly it costs £6 to get into London and back so two days back to back aren't so cost effective for me, which is why I couldn't be there yesterday.

JDE, don't think for a second I was in a "signature huff" or any other kind of "huff" because of the mix up - I appreciate the organization in getting us off our asses to meet up regularly. I was only in town for an hour anyhow and Loading was full of media twerps for some tv thang.

Should be around next week.

Huffy git.

Well, despite this week being a meet in two parts, I had fun last night with JDE, even if we mainly just played Sonic Racing.

Anyway - I think next week definitely is Wednesday, as Thursday they have a big Halloween do there. JDE can confirm on that front!

Shame I missed you guys on Wednesday anyway. I'm sure you coped without me...
