What have you done when you score your 1st 1cc in your life?

Post by SAM »

What have you done when you score your 1st 1cc in your life? :o

Here is one of the famous cases happened around here :P :

Someone in the local acrade score his first 1cc (probably the 1st time in his life) on Mushihime-sama on Original Mode.

Just after he had done it, he got so excited that he stood up and started running in circles shouting "I CLEARED IT!!! I CLEARED IT!!!.... I CLEARED IT!!!"

When he notices all the people in the acrade is looking at him, he stop and remind silence for a brief moment. Then he decided to ignore them and continue to run in circle shouting...

************************************

For myself, when I score my 1st 1cc (looped), the 1st time in my life for an Acrade game, 2 days ago on KiKi KaiKai. I went out of my room, and start posting message here in the "1cc list" tread. :D

I guess I am yet to get over the excitement of my 1st 1cc...

************************************

For people who like to challenge my claim: :o

My first 1CC was Batsugun back in June (?) I played it for at least 2-3 months and refused to play any other shooter until I had it mastered. I celebrated by having a snack and then going to bed. Then the next day, I celebrated further by ordering a Japanese PS2 and a new copy of DDP DOJ. :)

Where do you live SAM, btw? UK or Japan I am guessing?

I usually back up a bit and yell "yes" and stick my hands in the air. Then loop 2 starts and I die a horrible death because I've never seen it before.

SAM is in Hong Kong. Lucky #*$^#$%%#.... We'll have to get in touch and hit up some arcades if I'm ever in the area again. That's if you can stand my broken Chinglish and spending hours scouring dusty old boxes in Golden Shopping Arcade...

My first 1CC is when I was four years old playing Super R-Type for the SNES. When I 1CC it, I went crazy, and then play the game nine more times in a row, and 1CC each time!!!

Suprisingly I don't exactly remember my first 1CC. It was either Thunder Force IV or R-Type Final early last year. All I remember in each of my 4 total lifetime 1CCs I was very quiet and subdued when I won. Never a big fuss just a calm satisfaction.

Even though it was no real accomplishment to 1cc Zanac Neo and that follow up to Shienryu (forget the name right now), the first thing I did was post the fact in the 1cc thread here.

I'm glad I got the 1cc monkey off my back-- even if it was with very easy games (survival wise)-- because what I enjoy doing most is playing really hard games for score, games that I will surely never 1cc, like Dragon Blaze and Mars Matrix.

I usually scream 'YEAHHHHH!!!!' at the screen, flip it off REALLY HARD :), throw my controller at the wall, and then smoke a cigarrette while squinting Eastwood style..

I think my first shmup 1CC (out of the few I've mustered) was Space Megaforce, from way back before I'd ever even heard the term "shmup," heh heh. I don't remember what I did, it was nothing spectacular, whatever it was. These days, on the rare occasion that I manage to 1CC something, I'll usually just say "whew," or "I did it," and that's about it...maybe it's just because the only shmups I can clear are relatively easy ones. If I ever manage to clear a harder shmup I might make a bit more of a fuss, heh heh.

Its not a shmup,

I remember when I finally finished Fire Hawk: Thexder 2 on MSX, I begun yelling "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IIIIIIII AAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMM GOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDD, DDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMNNNNN!" or something like that and punch the air and jump like crazy and some silly stuff like that. I think I celebrated like that for several minutes and I barely watched the endind sequence, I was just too excited (I was 12 years old back then. That game was FUCKING HARD.

When I was younger I really used to went crazy when finishing a game. I dont remember having such a big reaction as I did with Fire Hawk (Well.. I remember I did something similar when I finished Astro Marine Corps), but most of the time I would really yell and celebrate . Nowadays I just shout a discrete "yes!" or something like that, and thats all.

And to be quite honest, I think the last "1 sitting, no saving" game I finished was Blast Wind, which wasn't all that challenging.

I cant really remember what was my first 1CC. I had finished so many games on MSX (OOoohh, how I had so much free time back at those days), I really cant remember which one was the first....

Edit: OH.. I think my first "clear" (well, the game loops) was Kangaroo on the Atari 2600. I was 3 or 4 years old at most (I know that because my father still lived with us). Cant remember what was my reaction though.

I really cannot remember exactly. I'm sure was very excited/proud with my progress.
Anyway, it was many years ago...in the 16-Bit era...Thunder Force III.

Even to this day, its a great feeling, a sence of accomplishment with victory being your only true reward.

I haven't performed any 1CC's lately though, as I haven't really been playing much at all...only if you count a couple multi player Bomberman games.
Taking a break, I guess. Nah, its the car!

Mine was Gunbird 1. After I did it, I thought "That was a huge waste of time. That wasn't even that great of a game. I should have played something else." Then I go and start the process all over on a different game. God, I love shmups.

After my only shmup 1CC on Gradius 1 on the Deluxe Pack, I could only sit there drained, amazed in silence I was able to pull it off. I was too beat after to bother with celebrating, not to mention it was 3 a.m., definitely not a time to run around the house yelling like a madman.

Michael Jackson Moonwalker arcade. My heart was about to jump out of my chest. I was sweaty, trembling, and excited. My whole world consisted of the screen in front of me, and the sound from those speakers.

Then I came back to reality and went home with a big smile on my face.

My first shmup 1CC was hellfire back in 95 would have been 10 yrs old, been playing that game on and off on the megadrive for 5 years. I was able to then finally I'm as good as my brother at shmups, Think I probably ate something, then drank then slept, then went to school next day and the cycle repeated.

1CCing virtua fighter 4 at an arcade was pretty cool with jacky had a goodcrowd at luton airport watching me, they used to have a virtua fighter 3 iirc, anyway lot of kids were like wow! never seen past stage 7 before! let alone akira shoulder charging, so it was cool when I got a few claps for ringing out dural. Great feeling I used 1 pound coin to do what others used 10! to see.

My first shmup 1cc was Lightening Force WAY back in junior high or high school (must have been around `92 or `93). I was really excited about it & kinda went on through the rest of the day (this was during summer break) on a major high from finally conquering the game.

Actually mine was probably R-Type on the master system when i was about 10-11. I cant remeber exactly what i did after tbh, probably just watched cartoons. :? I dont usually get very vocal about completing a game, im just quietly pleased with myself i guess. Actually the first time i completed House of the dead in the arcade with 1-life i had a crowd of about 5 people watching and i just walked off as if i'd done it 37387 before :) Most people didnt have the patience to put any time into the game because of the stricked life settings on the cab, 2-lives at the start and max of 3 and on hardest setting. Was funny though. :)

Hello:

My first 1CC was Salamander for NES. After finishing it, I calmly put the cart away thinking how easy it was. That turned me away from Shmups for many years.

That all changed when I had a fortune opportunity to work in Japan as a Co-op. In Tokyo, I saw how far arcade shmups, mostly by Cave, have came along. Not only were they much harder, much more manic, they are also possible (as shown by the Japan gosu I waited for 20 minutes to die and get off the machine...) I have been hooked since.

Cheers.

Same here. I think it MAY have started with Gradius III.

No wait, it was Axelay, I think. I would get the "True" ending of the game by first 1cc-ing the game on Easy, which would then automatically restart you on Normal with your current stock of ships from the last loop, then I'd 1cc that, and then go through Hard, usually dying a lot in the process once I hit that difficulty, but the extra lives stock made up for it.

Or was it Stinger (the only NES Twinbee game I remember that hit the United States)? Heck, I don't remember.

My (all-too-short and all-too-boring) list of 1CC's...

Dragon Spirit (NES)

"...whew. Okay, now to beat it with the BLUE dragon..."
*2 minutes later..*
"fuckfuckFUCKFUCKFUCK!!!" *kicks NES, puts away Dragon Spirit.*

Shienryu Explosion (PS2, normal mode)

".....that's it? wow... fucking weak." *thinking, is it just me, or was every boss exactly the goddamn same?*

---------------------------------------------
I also have NEAR-1CC's on Mushihime-sama's Arrange Mode (then again... maybe they're NOT near-1CC's, since Arrange Mode doesn't even truly BEGIN until Final Aki shows up, which is where i die.... )

...and Ikaruga. ....with 5 lives. ...on easy mode.

Actually my first 1cc was only 2 days ago. Although I haven't really been playing shmups for that long, less then a year I'd say.

Espgaluda was the lucky game and now I'm aiming for finishing the sequal before I go back to Sweden.

Oh, and my reaction... I was in an arcade in Akihabara and two of my friends were watching. A loud "YES!" and two high-fives. :D
