More e-bay amusement

I am actually glad that this seller DOESN'T know the true title.

That game must be crazy rare; first time I have seen a JP Saturn version of Worms.

If your eyeballing this auction then you should probably put a bid up so the seller can't revise the item.
What more can I say I wouldn't be here today if the old school didn't pave the way.

It just looks like the seller chose to do a more literal translation of the katakana (seeing as the grenade in the title could be interpreted as any vowel): ワ-ムス

I ordered from that seller before. He's very reliable. The Super Puyo Puyo Tsu remix SNES I ordered from him was listed with all "good" for each category and came in near mint condition. Some items from Japanese sellers are often "misspelled" becuase of the way katakana is written for English words. The Pop 'n Twinbee I found from another Japanese seller was listed as Pop 'n Twenbee.

I meant to say I hate Worms and the artwork and I am emberrased to Japan.

they were probably like: We make all of these fine games that get exported to the US and Europe and what do we get in return?
Worms........

I mean who's buttcrack decided to publish that title in Japan?
Probably the same buttcrack who decided not to publish all of those great Japanese Saturn shooters in the US/Europe.

The original "Warms" actually is one hell of a classic, so simple and yet so much fun.
It was a daring concept at the time (graphic whores already roaring their ugly heads), but turned out to be one of the best and most memorable games to come out from Europe and indeed anywhere in the world.

Shame almost all the sequels (especially the horrendous 3D incarnations
which imho are nothing more than utter trash) never retained the original feeling and charm.

Actually, Team 17 (the people who made this one) are based in the UK, not the US. I haven't ever really played the first one, but Worms 2 remains one of my favorite games to this day. Concrete Donkey for the win!

...did the US version just show 3 seemingly identical pictures of the menu screen on the back of the box as well?

You are all so uneducated in this thread, it's not funny... Except for you, Vexorg :P

I've played worms for years, but have just started playing again after a 3 year hiatus. The Worms games using the Worms 2 engine (Worms 2, Worms: Armageddon, Worms World Party... they're essentially all the same) are the pinnacle of the worms franchise, and have endless replay value. Also pretty much some of the best games ever made. Also, never judge worms until you've played it online :P Play the computer and you're playing 2% of the game. Play your friends only, and it's better of course, but you'll never know the possibilities of the game until you've seen veterans play and picked up their tricks (and created some of your own). The Roping aspect of the game is like a game/sport unto itself, and people are always creating new schemes and play-styles... brilliant :P I used to like the original Worms, but after you play a worms 2 incarnation, you realize just how unrefined the original was (great for its time and hardware though... and still great fun).

As for worms 3d... I may be biased, but I hated it. I haven't played Worms Forts or the new 3d worms, and I have no interest in doing so. Maybe they've made the same jump in refinement as they did with the 2d worms, but it's my opinion that worms was made for 2d :P

As for Worms for saturn... it's pretty rare... but not too expensive... so just keep an eye out for it if you're a collector. It pops up.

Oh, Worms Blast is a damn fun game as well... really cool.

Did you know that Atari was offered Worms as an exclusive for the Jaguar, and they declined it? Graphic Whores, indeed.

Worms 2 over the network is fun, but even better than that is a 3-player hotseat game. Just be aware that you may find it necessary to defend yourself from bodily harm if you prod someone else's worm over the edge...

As for the 3D ones, Forts Under Siege isn't bad (it adds an interesting play mechanic), but still not up the standards of the 2D games. I've only played the demo of Worms 4 so far, and it seems to improve further, but all in all, the Worms games just don't translate to 3D very well at all. Would have been best to just keep 'em 2D and call it good. I've heard rumors that a new 2D Worms game may be in the works for the DS though...

haha this guy's selling a bootleg Radiant Silvergun sountrack here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 8233480306 No where does he specify that it's a CD-R, or anything of that nature. He even bootlegged the LABEL. This is what I wrote him: "Condition "NEW"???? You need to stop selling bootleg CD-Rs, or at least stop CHARGING so much for them. An original soundtrack for this game can be purchased for the same price! We both know you're trying to sell this to an unsuspecting collector as an original. Stop being a scumbag, and trying hide the fact that this is nothing more than a WORTHLESS BURNED PIECE OF CRAP. My friend almost bought this from you, until I told him it was a bootleg. So yeah, you can blame me for taking one of your sales. Makes me feel just dandy. 4.00 shipped would be too much for this. Probably on a MEMOREX CD-R too haha. Charge less, and don't hide the facts. By the way: I wouldn't have even contacted you if you weren't charging so much. If you were selling this for like 4, or 5 bucks shipped that's another story. Even then you need to specify: ------>CD-R!<------- so people can see it."
