Battle Garegga: How to chain medals and make it fun
I always found this to be really unenjoyable since they often get blocked by a wall of gunfire. You constantly have keep an eye out for them, or count enemies, and they fall fast. Plus you're pretty much boned if you let more than a few drop.
Any advice?

I always bomb whenever I see a medal that I won't be able to pick up because it's blocked by gunfire.
You will learn which enemies drop medals after a while. I started to really enjoy the game once I got the hang of that so my advice is to just keep at it

There's a definite rhythm to it, and you gt used to it after a while. Once you get the hang of it, you very rarely have this issue at all. It becomes a really enjoyable component of the game.
If you want to know the exact way that drops work, the ST has a very detailed explanation about how the system operates. That might help you get grounded if you don't feel like playing the game until it clicks.

Yeah there's a rhythm to it, more specifically shoot in mostly one area of the screen to avoid spawning medals all over the place, quickly move away to lead enemy shots away from the area and make a gap, move back in and grab the medals you spawned, repeat. Of course you don't need to do this all the time, just in nasty areas that you learn in time.
That is terrible haha, the only way to beat that is to stay near the top of the screen all the time, also helps with medalling in general.chum wrote:

- Use characters/formations with narrow width of fire.
- The spawn order is basically Medal, Item, Medal, Item, Medal, etc.. So you know if an item generated, it's time to watch for a medal.
-- Medals/Items are mostly generated at a fixed number of destroyed enemies. Imagine four measures of your favorite song. every fourth measure, be more mindful of destroying enemies exactly in front of you until a medal generates.
-- Or use the Gradius rule. In Gradiui, every short line of enemies in the intro sequences spawns a powerup. In Raizing/YagawaCave titles, a line of enemies is always enough to trigger a medal/item.
- Observe the large enemies that spawn medals outside of the fixed-popcorn enemy rule. These are usually because of how you destroyed the large enemy.
- Position yourself 1/3-1/2 up the playfield far-off-center as your resting position. This decreases medals merging with enemy bullets because you're indirectly bullet hoarding.
- Select the character variant with increased speed at the character select screen. This is usually with Start button or ABC, depending on the game. Look it up.

Why should I have to put effort into making a game fun. Why would you want to play something that isnt already fun?How to chain medals and make it fun
