Managed to grab this FREE 1976 Toshiba Blackstripe 13" Color TV off someone getting rid of it on craigslist.
I called 2 times, no answer. Called a 3rd time and got a hold of the person.
They said they were going to throw it away for recycling or give it to Goodwill,
but then listed it on craigslist to see if someone wanted it.
Anyways, I went to go see it and to my amazement, the thing is near mint !
It looks like it was hardly used ! The picture on it is still great too !

Picked up this vintage 1983 Magnasonic model MBT 200 B&W TV at an estate sale today for a measily $2. Works and looks like new. Not even 1 scratch on cabinet !
Doesnt seem like it was used much. It is a very clean set.
Made in Korea.
The cabinet has a yellow tinge to it with marbleized swirls in it.
Is that bakelite ?
I cant find any info on it. Is it a 10" screen size ?

Picked up this Panasonic TR-201C B&W TV at an estate sale recently.
Works perfect and the case is in near mint condition too.
Afrer a quick polish and clean, looks like new ! :yes:
It's made in Korea.
I'm surprised back then Panasonic made TV's in Korea.
I guess to save cost, the black and whites were made there ?

Picked up this Rare Sharp 2U-121C Black and White Vacuum Tube TV for free, untested. Gave it a cleaning, polishing. It is in real nice condition, no cracks or faults on the case.Turned it on waited 45 seconds and it works. I believe this was made in 1971-72 ?? Made in Japan.
I cant find any info on it. I peeked inside and noticed it is a tube hybrid set ?

Here's my vintage 1981 Electrohome Model C55-131 Color TV.
Got it for $5 bucks at an estate sale. Work perfect.
It's manufactured by Samsung.

I'm jealous and not even sure why. I don't and can't collect such things (don't have the space), but I love CRT's and I love the classic design of these, they're beautiful. I'm glad to see you carrying on with the hobby, please post more of your findings.

Picked up this obscure vintage JIL (Jutan International Limited) Citizen Concerto model JCTV 1580 13 inch Color TV off of KIJIJI today for free. Works and looks like new.
Doesnt seem like it was used much. It is a very clean set.
Made in Taiwan.
I cant find any info on it. Not sure the exact year but probably 1982-1987ish.
Seems to resemble an RCA set of that vintage.

Got another freebie today from the local classifieds - 1991 Emerson EC1331 14" Color TV. Made in Korea. From the listing, I had no idea what year it was from or even if it worked ! I had to drive about 40 minutes to get it. Anyways, I brought it back home, cleaned it up and turned it on. Works as it should. :smoke:
I never knew TV sets made in the early 90's still had the knobs on the tuner and woodgrain look as well !

Picked up this 1971 Sony CVM-110UA Transistor Video TV Monitor at an estate sale for dirt cheap in late October 2013. I had not tested it, so I took a chance on it. Brought it home and tested it and it turned on. Essentially it works, but needs some contact pots cleaned. It had woodgrain vinyl covering on it, but I removed it.

When I was a kid I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I really think it's a benchmark of 80s design.

Saw one of these on eBay a year back for £100. Bit pricey but looked very cool.

I'm surprised about this as well. There certainly were modern-style sets being made years earlier, but I guess Emerson was behind the times (as always).

Looking at that thing immediately brought memories of staying in cheap old motels in the '90s. By now I'm sure all those places have upgraded to a black-cabinet model in the Sony style. I'm sure LCD is still in the future for many of those places, though.

Just looked carefully at the formerly-woodgrained '71 Sony's back inputs...now that's some stuff I haven't seen before. That EIAJ plug ("VTR") on the back must've been like the RGB plug of its day.

I wouldnt rent these out. What happens if they damage or lose them ?
These are things you cant replace.
It's not like you can go to the store or on ebay and buy another !

Here's a TV my family has has since new. It used to be my moms.
It is your average run of the mill small black and white 12" RCA TV.
the model is either model AGR120Y or AJR120Y - The labels are missing (fell off)
It is made in Taiwan.
Still has the original manuals.

Just picked up this nice 1978 Panasonic TR-622C black and white TV.
It is Made in Japan.
Seems like a well built TV. Works well, but need to clean the switches and tuner knobs.

Those tvs are beautiful, makes me remember how auwsome tech usted to look, before button became little black specs, and remotes all resembles cell-phone buttons.

I have a SONY trinitron, the SNES copier does not work for it, but on my later models, it does a great job. What I really hate is when somebody in the household decides to buy a tv, without concerning me. That is like money down the drain when one of these things break.

Man, those things are pure sex.......

Even the oriignal Atari vs the Junior looks like if god stepped down from heavan, then the SEGA genesis came along with it's big bulky black self, which gave rise to a string of boring lamewad looking game systems.

What I really hate, is when I see these things on the curb side. Because everybody is too stupid, to get a tuner, they are going to deposit tax, for a flatscreen that just sucks. Is their any flatscreen out their that gives fulls enjoyment from the side view???
