Sega Saturn hss-0130 help
Hello, I bought one of these off ebay. The previous owner wired in Neo Geo controller wires. All the Saturn components are still hooked up, but it wouldn't work with the Saturn. My question is: Is this stick still salvageable for the Saturn or is it ruined? Thanks for any help.

I ain't disregarding shit.
Because I'm interested if the Neo Geo connection actually did fry the Saturn PCBs. What do you guys think? One of those pins has +5v so it's possible isn't it? Don't wanna go make the same mistake myself...
FWIW even if they were fried you could have always replaced the PCBs with ones from other Saturn controllers, or with MC Cthulhus.

If they connected the wiring to the traces for the directions and buttons it shouldnt have. I don't think its possible to attach it to where the old controller wiring was. I wanted pics. It would have been repairable most likely as long as it was done right. The traces would just have to have been recovered. But the hardest part would have been figuring out where the old controller wiring was, which I have no idea. I think you would need a pic of another to figure out.

Re: Sega Saturn hss-0130 help
Possibly related, I had bought a Namco PS1 stick from eBay that had been dual-modded with a DB-15 connector wired for Neo Geo standard, and it worked for both, so it is possible to accomplish this.
Really all that's required is to wire each pin on the DB-15 connector to each of the inputs (buttons and joystick directions), as well as ground from the DB-15, independent of the original controller PCB.
+5V from the Neo Geo is available, but should not be used for this kind of setup. I think it's only needed for the Neo Geo pads. Even if it was wired to ... something, I'm not sure what you'd connect it to unless there's something inside the HSS-0130 that requires power ... unless you had it hooked up to both systems at the same time (which you should not do), you wouldn't get that voltage coming across.
