As the threadtitle says:
Is it possible to hook my laptop to a TV/monitor with the following components (which are already in my possession...)
Laptop to Jpac by means of USB and a VGA cable. The jpac would be connected to a supergun, which in turn is connected to a TV (Sony PVM or B&O) by RGB-Scart...
Is such a setup possible and if yes, feasible?
And on the computer side, do I have to set my laptop (which has a Nvidia GT 555 m graphics card) somehow to output 15khz? If this is even possible, that is.
If somehow possible, I'd like not to buy any additional hardware.
Thanks for your inputs, guys!

If your NVIDIA card plays nice with Soft15kHz you can try that: http://community.arcadeinfo.de/showthre ... l-Overview or try to use GroovyMAME: http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=24216

Use the JROK to convert the signal. See "Configuring the Monitor Interface" from: http://www.ultimarc.com/jpac2.html

Hmm, it could be that I need a 15khz edid dongle to make this setup work with my rather newisch gt 555 m.

Soft 15 kHz has a very high compatibility. and is very easy to use.Drachenherz wrote:Hmm, it could be that I need a 15khz edid dongle to make this setup work with my rather newisch gt 555 m.
If this is supposed to be for mame than you can use Groovymame with Powerstrip. Although i would recommend using Soft 15 kHz.

Okay, good to hear about the high compatibility, I just haven't had the time yet to try it out. It's just that I read that modern cards sometimes don't play nicely with soft 15khz, that's why I asked about the dongle.
Will certainly post more about, when/if I get things to work - or not.
Thanks for your inputs up to now.
