I don't get your point. What's your problem with the shown device ?
If you're looking for something smaller, there're 1:2 HDMI splitter units from ViewHD which do the same. Also there's the HDFury IV (rather expensive for just that) and a similar box from Moome (even more expensive).

It's a curiosity, I would like to have options. Maybe there's some I need (like a switch) that also does this.
