I beat the first loop of Donpachi with the B-ship. That was pretty fun aiming with the side-pods, and the movement speed was a nice change from what I'm used to with the slow-ass C-ship.

Danmaku Unlimited 2 [PC Port] - Classic Mode, Extreme Difficulty ALL CLEAR

True Last Boss is just too brutal. No-Miss right up to the final boss and then I made a stupid mistake and then the TLB proceeded to strip me of two more lives. Bah, I can do better but I'm happy I finally got to take this sucker down.
Special thanks to Cagar. Didn't see too much on his stream since I dropped in late but I copied the route he followed for the first half of stage 5 and it significantly made my life easier (beforehand I would usually die twice on the stage).

Four in the morning here and I just 1-ALL'd the arcade mode of the Android version of DoDonPachi Resurrection on Hard. Between autobombing and bullet cancelling aplenty, the game didn't feel very challenging on normal, but damn, hard is hard. Stage 5 is specially merciless. The touch controls still feel kinda like cheating, though.
Still, I'm failing to get into the second loop even on Novice. Can someone confirm the requirements for me? I thought I fulfilled them once, but then the game just ended.

congratulations! a bakraid advanced clear is really all about learning the boss rush imo. with a low-rank playthrough its not that difficult of a game, probably significantly below Garegga and Batrider. have you cleared special mode yet?

Thanks blackoak (and for the advice too on rank management). I have to agree with that, the boss rush was my first wall. Then it took 3 or so tries once I could make it to Vampire. Definitely much easier than Garegga. Batrider I've yet to go for the advanced clear.

I have not tried Special mode.

I actually think this is A LOT easier than Bakraid advanced. Final boss fight... throw 3 hadous at her and get:

I'm not really sure this is I DID IT worthy, but I finally full-chained the first two levels on the White Label machine at Galloping Ghost Arcade. Well, not completely full chained - I actually oddly broke the chain just before the last level 1 bee, which cost me a couple million, but I full chained level 2 wire to wire, with a fairly max score. Got to level 4 overall. Really, really pleased with myself. Now to stop worrying about the scoring and just 1-all the damned game :) The pic is small - I scored 90 million.

I just got Ibara a few days ago, played it over the weekend a bunch. st5 boss is my current survival best. I must be doing something(s) wrong, as I find it harder than Bakraid/Batrider off the bat. I'm not quite sure yet how to balance a survival/score approach, or what raises rank, or what is different from a Garegga approach. Lots of questions and the strategy guides here seem uncharacteristically diffuse in coverage past the very basics...

Not ready to pass judgment on the game yet of course. On a purely aesthetic level I find it the hardest of any Cave/Raizing shmup in terms of bullet visibility. I dislike the internally-spinny bullets that screw with my eyes... didn't like those in MMP either. Overall I think its kind of an ugly game, something about it just doesn't visually cohere for me.

Lace is a difficult boss, or should I say, the only difficult boss. I usually lose 1 life on her first pattern, circle her for the second, and then get hadou happy the rest of the fight. For rank management it's important to ease up collecting excess powerups and weapons, just like typical Yagawa, don't stock more than a few lives.

Having gone from Bakraid to Ibara recently, it is indeed a blurry mess. Where Bakraid looks sharp and clean, Ibara is quite hard on the eyes. It makes me think that my monitor needs to be calibrated. I like the art design a lot but I know what you mean about the bullets. It is the only CV1000 game I own, I wonder if the others are this sloppy.

Touhou 14 1cc is done. Really easy since the game gives you a ridiculous amount of bombs and lives, but enjoyable either way. It was my first Touhou, and although I can't really see myself getting way into the story and characters and all that crap, from a purely gameplay standpoint they are definitely fun.

On the topic of Batrider clears, I cleared the advanced course with TEAM LOLI. :P

Oh, and I also got this. Image

Best score I've ever gotten in a non-touhou game? Definitely, and I'm aiming for #1 on the farm

Just got my first 1CC ever on Mushihimesama Original Mode (1.0) :D

I even had one spare life and dodged the last pattern without a bomb cuz i didn't have any

Been playing this game for the last 4 months, 2-3 hours a week. Now i need to focus on the parts that are problematic for me.

I beat R-Type Delta today. :)

Totally thought I was going to no miss it and I died on the last pattern. Ended up having to do the final battle without the bits on the top and bottom, which made it way more difficult. Sometimes I think the only thing harder than no missing an R-Type game is recovering after dying in an R-Type game. 8)

I didn't expect that when playing tired and late at night either. Sadly, the replay desynchs in Progear consistently late in the game (around the final boss or so) so I've not had luck recording my runs. Never had this trouble with .INPs desynching before, I always delete the NVRAM and CFG. I guess I have to find a way of recording runs live (my computer is horrible and laggy, recording the .INP then playing it back while recording .AVI has been my usual method). :(

On the plus side, I could upload the replay for the first loop alone - it seems to desynch early in 2-1, so the first loop at least looks good (and I fail miserably once I get to 2-2 anyways, 6 extra lives and didn't even make it past the middle of the level). It's here if anyone's interested (shmupmame v4.2).
