Magical Drop games on Saturn - opinions wanted

How dramatic are the differences in Magical Drop III for Saturn vs. the Neo Geo original? Is it still worth getting in terms of being a fun and challenging game, or would I be better off getting Magical Drop II?

I don't really know the differences between Saturn and Neo Geo version, but the Saturn version to me is quite fun. Get it if you can, as it's even better with 2 players. Load times are minimal too on this one.

I noticed you mention MD 2, that one is still nice and all, but isn't there less playable characters in that one if memory serves me right? I wish I had this one, do have MD3.
