Weird Al's entire catalog. Which is merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to stupid songs that I like :)

Word up, Pa

Sometimes i look at my wife and i say, "Y'know, baby - i'll never forget the first thing you said to me..." and she automatically starts laughing.

*for those who don't know she said, "Hey, you have weasels on your face..."

Now we're talking about dementia and humor, not stupid songs.

Dementia and humor music is awesome. I think by "stupid songs" he means songs that most people say suck but you like.

Hm...
ELEKTRONIK SUPERSONIK. Even though it's meant to be a humor song. It's just so hilariously bad.

(If you don't believe me on it being a humor song, search "Molvania" on wikipedia.

Also, the Ninja Rap.
The radio said, "No, John. You are the demons."
And then, John was a zombie.

I've actually seen six Weird Al Yankovic shows. The first one when I was twelve. He was touring on "In 3-D". That was a beautiful moment in my young life. I first heard him in 1979 when my buddy brought over his single. "Another One Rides the Bus" b/w "Gotta Boogie". He didn't even have an album yet.

Now, if you're talking about weaksauce terrible shit that noone has any business liking... I'll say "Toxic" by Britney Spears. It'd actually pain me to admit that if I didn't like the song so much.

Men Without Hats - The Safety Dance

*shrug*

No Doubt - It's my life.

I don't really like the song, but the bass line kicks utter amounts of ass.

I primarily listen to ska, so I guess my entire album collection could be considered a guilty pleasure.

I can top that - I used to have their entire greatest hits album in my Launchcast playlist back when I listened to Launch at my old job.

As for Weird Al, for every one time he makes me laugh, he makes me cringe about three or four. The net effect is that I'm annoyed by him and disappointed in myself for laughing.

I used to enjoy blaring MMMBop by Hanson, but I think that was more to piss off my roommates than for my actual listening pleasure.

On a final note, One Night in Bangkok is quite possibly the greatest song ever written regarding chess's superiority over Thai whores.

That's mine, along with the '80s song sung at the wedding at the end of "The Wedding Singer".

Weird Al is awesome-my favorite song by him is still "Smells Like Nirvana"!

Britney can go to hell, but that's actually a damn cool song, production-wise.

As for me...

www.olremix.com

A site for really crappy video game remixes, and some are quite brilliant in their terribleness. I got one of my own up there (my handle is Tomapella), and hopefully another is on the way. [/plug]

Shanks & Bigfoot: "Sweet like chocolate"

I also do like Britney's "Baby one more time" and a couple of Spice Girls songs.

I used to listen to all sorts of Weird Al myself, haven't done so in quite a while though. As for stuff that would fit in this category, I'd have to go with the Aquabats. Most of their songs sound like the kind of thing you'd find in a sugar-soaked Saturday morning cartoon.

I really only like that single song of hers. It's pretty well done for a pop song, actually, if you strip all the fluffy Britney stuff and just look at the music. Simple, yet effective. This would become apparent if a decent band decided to cover it and put the musical substance (for a lack of a better word) into a more guitar-heavy environment. Kinda like what Gun did with "Word up". Some people never noticed how good the song actually was before Gun covered it. (I do prefer the original, though.)

The Aquabats were my favorite band back in the day. I finally got to see them live this summer... it was awesome. There's no better way to forget you're not 8 years old anymore.

This probably belongs in the "Rubbing off on my wife" thread, but my girlfriend likes to sing Pool Party and Pizza Day at random times.

Oh that's nothing... My brother and some cousins (who were the ones who got me listening to the stuff in the first place) have actually made up a holday called Arnesta day (named after a little yap dog belonging to the former next door neighbors) that happens on the second Saturday in June every year. Part of the celebration is that for the week before, everyone eats off the menu out of the song Pizza Day (Monday hot dogs, Tuesday tacos, Wednesday hamburgers and chocolate milk, Thursday sloppy joes and burritos in a bag. Friday, of course, is pizza day.) And yes, my family is a bit weird at times, but I've gotten used to it...

Cheesy old disco music is my weakness..."YMCA," "Disco Inferno," flaky stuff like that...actually, for my final project for a "Movement for the Actor" class I took some time back, my partner and I set our piece to "Stayin' Alive." Complete with polyester and afro wig.

EDIT: Remember when someone (I think it was Specineff) posted a quick spoof of "YMCA" with "X-RGB" put in its place? And remember how I just had to take it several steps farther?

Ohhh young man...are you playin' a shmup?
I say, young man...is the picture messed up?
