RQ: R-Type Delta Stage 6 Boss

This guy is so tough. In the beginning section the boss fires four pods that explode and little snakes come out. One of the pod formations is giving me trouble in particular. Anyone have any tips for fighting this guy?

It's a bit hard to explain what I did there, so I'll just link my no-miss replay. The battle against Dobkeratops starts at about 31:05.

Cool stuff. I definitely want to sit down and learn this game with the RX eventually. I love the force pod on that ship.

I went looking online and I found this video a few minutes ago, which shows off a safe spot by the boss' neck. Might be of use for anyone struggling with this part.
