Shooting Gameside #8 Includes Stunfest 2013 Retrospective

Hi folks,

So, as publicized here, Shooting Gameside #8 will feature a Stunfest retrospective written by a games journalist friend in Japan and edited by me. This article is 6 pages long and is told through an interview with Clover-TAC and Pikachu (head of Wasshoi). There are also occasional background explanations on how the whole idea got started.

Hopefully we'll bring a little bit of the energy and dedication of all the French players who made Stunfest 2013 possible to Japan with this article.

The issue goes on sale September 28th for 1300 yen. There are pictures, but obviously the interview is all in Japanese. Still, it is somewhat historic that the EU shooting scene makes it into a Japanese magazine, so I thought I'd give a shout out here.

P.S. This may (or may not be) the start of something...? Stay tuned...

awesome! I'll definitely be picking that up, and I'd be happy to translate it into english for people here, unless you wanted to keep it exclusive to the printed publication. I never personally reached out to STG Gameside despite having translated so much of their great content, but it would be exciting if there was more connection between the western/jp stg "scene." are you thinking a regular column of some sort?

I've always been kinda impressed by the amount of attention STG Gameside gives to international games (particularly when it comes to games they shouldn't really bother with...) but this is on a whole other level. Congratulations!

Believe me, I will. I was thinking of approaching them myself, actually, but I'm curious to see what you're cooking up, so I think I'll hold back for the time being.

Blackoak, I'll PM you!

I don't want to say anything too definite now. We'll see where it goes from here.

Like you say, they seem pretty open to shooters anywhere. If you can write in Japanese and have an interesting article proposal, I'm sure they'd welcome the pitch. Keep in mind that it's a print publication so they're going to have standards on content and whatnot.

So this is out tomorrow. :D

Got an early copy here, it's pretty cool:

One thing I forgot to mention about the article is that it includes QR codes which you can scan that go directly to each of Kamui, NAK and Clover-TAC's videos. Of course everybody over here can just google that shit :P , but hopefully it'll give some more exposure to those recordings which have some excellent play in them.
