Bang & Olufsen MX6000 & 7000

Hi, does anyone have any experience with the B&O MX6000/MX7000 TV's for retro gaming?

I'm looking for Super flatline Loewe E3000's but can't find one in the UK. These B&O's are really common here so I'd love to hear how they compare to these Loewes?

One aspect I'm interested in is that, although they supposedly have slightly less 'pop' and clarity than the Loewes, the scanlines are also less promonent which is a desirable trait for me. This is based on heresay though as I've got no experience with these TVs, so I'd love to here from someone who has....

I sure hope not, I have a B&O right here and I like my pronounced scanlines. Although I have not yet had the chance to hook a 240p source to it I hope to get the chance some day soon.

The scanlines aren't overly pronounced on my MX4000, and after getting into service mode and fiddling all day, I've got the picture as beautiful as I can (and that's pretty gorgeous!)

The vibrancy and 'pop' as you say aren't that obvious on the B&O, but it's a trade off for a crisp, clear image that isn't over saturated at all and appears to have just the right levels of colour balance. Hacha Mecha Fighter looks quite incredible, and the speakers are amazing.

One note regarding scanlines, the B&O's de-interlacing function certainly will make them pronounced - that's the idea. You don't need an upscaler to get a true arcade look from a 360, which is an amazing feature. Now all I need to do is figure out how to access it!

Finally got to try my MX 4200. Here is the verdict as to how it compares to a PVM L2.

Scanlines are most certainly less pronounced. The overall image quality does not measure up to a PVM in my opinion. The PVM is certainly sharper and more natural in terms of image quality and colour. That being said it still looks pretty good.

Well, the OP was interested in the scanline aestetics, so I am sure he will appreciate it. One of these days I wilk haul out my 29" 4:3 480p capable Panasonic CRT TV and test that one as well.

I think that one is going to have a pretty horrenous 240p performance though since it is a 100hz TV. We'll see.
