RQ: R-type 1 stage 5 boss

Quick question... Does the boss of stage 5 have a set pattern or does it move around the screen randomly? sometimes it changes course but I was wondering if there was something that would change that in the game.

According to an interview with the developers that blackoak translated...

–What is the pattern for the movement of the st5 boss?

Its completely random. A point near the top of the screen is chosen, and if you approach that it moves slowly, and if you’re far from it, he moves quickly. Then it repeats.

Yeah, that video gave me a good idea of how to handle the stage 4 boss - that's always the trouble spot I die at.

Thanks and No problem.. I usually like to practice using save states, train myself to no-miss each level and then go for the entire run through once I'm comfortable. Safe/reliable strategy for me , this boss just gave me some confusion because I didn't know if you could manipulate it's course or not!
