I think I activated 240p on a PAL Wii...
I found a way to activate 240p on the PAL Wii I'm using and when I did it the screen gained scanlines, and was a smaller image space placed at the bottom of the screen. It looks quite good, but I'm not sure if it's actually 240p (says 576i, but it could just be upscaled) and it has a weird thing where images on the screen before (e.g. the Wii menu) will stay on the screen during Virtual Console play. It also doesn't work in some games (Super Mario World, all N64) and stayed when I switched back to 480p mode (still outputted 576i but I digress). Does anyone know what's going on?

The PAL VC outputs 288p or 576i (some NTSC "imports" also have 480p). Nothing special there. Looks like you activated the 288p mode and your TV doesn't support it correctly.

Ah, so it's 288p instead of 240p. Similar enough, I think the iScan Pro linedoubles both of them to 480p/576p anyway and I could just do that. Thanks for the information!blizzz wrote:The PAL VC outputs 288p or 576i (some NTSC "imports" also have 480p). Nothing special there. yeah, but VGA inputs don't like 576p50. No VESA timing.

Are you talking about the VGA ouput? Because you can change that to Component.Fudoh wrote:yeah, but VGA inputs don't like 576p50. No VESA timing.
