Avoid Cobricon Games on Amazon.com!

Post by ninjainspandex »

So a week or so ago I ordered a copy of Breath of Fire 2 off amazon from this seller the Cart was listed that it was in good condition and no mention of any defect. Maybe I'm just picky about cart condition but the way I recieved it I would never List it saying its in good condition.

I then sent him an email back explaining my issue. A few days went by with no response so I ended up leaving him a 1 star Review explaining my grievances. This was my feedback to him. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/main?ie=UT ... 1XF67FWOIL
"Item listed as good condition, received item in terrible condition. label was badly worn and cart was damaged, none of which was mentioned in the description. Contacted the seller but no response. I would be very careful about buying something from this seller without a detailed description."

The next day he left a response to my negative feedback (funny how quick he was to respond to that) with this
" Game was in excellent condition as stated. We even offered him a refund but he never responded. Scammer!"

Oh so now your admitting the cart was in excellent condition now? and that you sent me a response offering a refund? Thats funny because my Amazon Inbox is still empty and nothing in my email. Looks like someone else left him a 1 star response with a ps1 game that was scratched and didn't work and that he offered a refund but the buyer never responded and once again claimed scammer.

Now normally I probably would of just let this slide with a 1 star response and moved on with my life but he was so blatant with his lies that I just felt like sharing it here. Not sure what my recourses are on amazon. Is this something I can open a claim on? would they require me to send the cart back first before a refund? Because if so I would never ever trust the guy to refund my money after I sent him back the cart, most likely he would just claim he never got it. Would Amazon be able to tell that he never sent me a response before claiming he offered me a refund. I apologies for my ranting just a bit pissed off right now, hopefully I can save someone else from being scammed by him.

A cart like that with such ugly label damage would be stretching "good" to the breaking point, never mind "excellent." I hate sellers who gloss over stuff like this, thanks for the heads-up.

Little update Amazon refunded me the full purchase price in the form of an amazon gift card. So moral of the story is if a seller lists an item in good-excellent condition on amazon and you receive it in a condition that is clearly not raise hell about it don't just sit back and take it. :D

Probably also a good idea to get pics of what you're buying.

Ratings like "good" or "excellent" can be subjective, but it's impossible to mistake pictures. If he showed you a picture of a cart in pristine condition and then you receive something like that, you have clear evidence of fraud.

I thought this topic was going to be about sellers trying to pass off resealed games off as new or sellers trying to pass off random region games as US. There seem to be quite a few of them on Amazon nowadays, and they usually have high ratings too.

Amazon Marketplace is far from the click-and-forget option it once was but at least it's still nowhere near the depths of eBay yet. Amazon has awesome customer support as you noticed but problem situations are a hassle nevertheless.

It's a shame that amazon doesn't require people to supply a picture of the item your selling, in an age where everyone has a phone with a decent camera it doesn't seem too much to ask. Sadly almost no one provides pictures on amazon even though the option is there.

Does anyone have a problem with making orders from Japan over Amazon and having them get "lost?"

I've twice ordered import DS games and simply never had them show up. Thanks to the Amazon guarantee all I've lost is time and patience, but still! I even made certain the second seller had a history of good feedback.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"
