Shienryu gets my vote, although Daioh and Triggerheart Exelica are also quite nice. Never played enough of Sengeki Striker to actually form an opinion on it.

Gone. They silently closed up shop, and the website faded with nary a warning. At least they weren't involved with organized white-collar crime, like Milestone.eatfrog wrote:So whats the status on warashi these days, are they still active? website seems to be down since 2011.

Ah, Milestone inc's swan song: Bio-ethanol Hazard Battle
Boss fratricide is always cool! Besides the well-known Salamander 2 brain chomp, there's a great cheap shot here in RefleX. We Shin Contra players also know its TURTLE DROP is another highlight!Ghegs wrote:I haven't played their games terribly much, but damn if Shienryu's Stage 8-1 isn't cool. You first have a rematch against the orange mech you fought before, and then the TLB arrives in a rather surprising fashion. Cool stuff.

I really love the feel of Shienryu. I can pick it up and have fun any time. This is totally my type of game.
I only tried Sengeki Striker a few credits. Maybe it was the monitor on the machine, or maybe it's the colors, but I found the bullets really hard to track. I do have a Supernova motherboard so I should probably track this down some day.
Triggerheart I played a lot on the 360. This one required a lot of play to grow on me, as the unique game mechanics took a while to sink in. Unlocking extra boss fights gives a great incentive to learn proper play.

Triggerheart!!!
Love this game, played a ton of it on 360. Like it says above me, good fun to be had. Pretty proud of getting achievements for no miss and 1cc hard.

So, you might say that you're wishy-warashi?Ed Oscuro wrote:So many good games to choose from...I'm kind of wishy-washy on picking just one.

Although I don't play it as much as I should, Shienryu is a lot of fun. For a while, at least.

Shienryu was one of the first shmups I ever bought. Got an import Saturn for playing shmups and Shienryu was probably the first game I played on it. Good times. If only for sentimental reasons, my vote goes to Shienryu. A fine Raiden-style game.

Did Warashi have anything to do with that one?

Exelica's boss music is awesome as is some of the music in Shienryu.

Y'know what, I never noticed that, and I own the silly thing.
