I'm sure there's a joke here, but I really don't want to be the one to make it.kevkevkevkev wrote:Mai is bouncy but theres no blood.

The hell...?
I'm pretty sure the URL at the top of my browser says shmups.system11.org.... not shoryuken.com.

Pretty poor actually. 2K2 was the best after '98, the rest are kinda bad up to KOF 13.kevkevkevkev wrote:Yeah yeah i know. Just wanted a quick answer. Fixed jap so all the soft menu is jap. Great game though.

This. 2k3 is pretty busted, really. My friends seem to like 11 a bit for terrible, terrible reasons.Skykid wrote:Pretty poor actually. 2K2 was the best after '98, the rest are kinda bad up to KOF 13.kevkevkevkev wrote:Yeah yeah i know. but I've kept them on the path of playing '98, 2002, and 13, thankfully
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

By "jamma" do you mean an MVS cart? If you have a Unibios, just experiment with the region settings and see if blood shows up anywhere.kevkevkevkev wrote:Picked up a jap kof 03 jamma on ebay. Mai is bouncy but theres no blood. Was there blood or is that the way it is?

Personally none of the KOF games I've played have had blood, so I doubt they'd start.

Re: is there blood in kof 2003?
No he does not mean the MVS cart. KOF 2003 was also released on PCB like a few other titles from that late era (SvC Chaos).
I don't know anything about, dip switches etc, BUT there should be blood if you're playing the game in JPN region (after a Yamazaki knife slash or an attack like that).
I don't know if the PCB release was a US only thing ( I doubt it), but it sounds like you have an english region board, which shouldn't have Mai's bounce either.
Regardless of Neo Geo or KOF knowledge, anyone with a basic understanding of PCB dip switch settings (I'm not one of these people) should be able to shed some light here.

I'm surprised no one has just popped in the game to find out yet. I just tested it on the Japanese PS2 version. No, Kof 2k3 does not have blood. All the ones prior to that do though in their original Japanese form.
