Should be there around 4, maybe a bit earlier. SOJ on a projector and new PCB's sounds pretty damn good.

^ Ok, sounds like a get together of sorts! I'm thinking beers from around 5:30 - 6pm onward, so the earlier the better really.

Rupe, I'm beard stroking over your SFIV Ken poster. Not for me, but there's a guy in China who might appreciate it... or might not care for it, lol, I'm really in two minds!

That would be great, although you're welcome anytime after 12 if you can make it. Thanks for the poster, in that case it will be a gift of faith and goodwill after all! :o

I should probably say, closest exit is Highgate Station on the northern line. Pretty obvious.

Assuming everyone is going to be here this afternoon then, since I've had no construction cancellation orders.

See you soon!

Astraea FGA Mk. I you're welcome also! Always wanted to meet the Einhander ship in person.

As a complete aside: before I order one, do any of you PVM owning Casino dudes have any spare BNC -> RGB converter leads spare that you could sell me?

I know both Spadgy and Rupert have probably dabbled with these before.

I've got a job in London!

For a week!

I guess I should try and meet people in HoG at some point. And play whatever games they have there. When is a good day to do that and stuff?

Hello guys.
Tomorrow I'm taking a plane to London and I'll be there for a week. I plan on spending next Wednesday 4th afternoon at HoG. I also wanted to scrap some more spare time to visit Game Focus but I've just read it has closed since the last time I went there. Is there any other related/similar place where I can find (preferably shmup related) oldies/imports left worth visiting?

No, not really. Family Leisure at London Piccadilly Circus, Namco Wonderpark at County Hall opposite the London Eye ferris wheel.

There's Raven Games in North London, and Retro Game Base in South London. Sadly there aren't really any decent video game shops in Central London anymore. Actually, apart from Computer Exchange there aren't a lot of video game shops of any type - even Game have moved their flagship store from Oxford Street to the big Westfield in Stratford.

I showed him how to score properly i.e. spend as much time as you can flying into the bottom right corner of the screen. I maintain that it's the best mechanic ever.

Yeah, I found that video on Nico too! I got my 7+ million score by milking the babana monkeys instead, it's even more fun!

I have a spare if you still need one - do you want to meet at HoG sometime next week so I can give it to you? Any other Casino Crew members up for a HoG visit?

If all goes to plan I should be in HoG soon, hopefully with Skykid and some others - stay tuned!

Sad to see that raven games is a shadow of it's former self...the last time I was there the shop was virtually bare...very sad, they used to be awesome.I shopped there for about 15 years, hardly give them a second thought now,I stayed loyal as long as I could though.

Also, even though it's raven games London,it's actually in beckenham in Kent. It's technically London as I think it borders Croydon. It's a bit confusing.

Spent today with Chi'sburger. He's now suited up and ready to get married tomorrow.

Went to that smoothie place with games in it. Kinda fun! I played some guys on SFII Turbo and had to give the pad up because I was embarrassed at how bad they were, and played some Gun.Smoke, Xevious, Mappy, Pac Man and Donkey Kong on the Mame tabletop thingy.

Yes, yes, double yes to all of the above. Would very much appreciate that cable, would very much appreciate a HOG meet! And a hog roast. And a spi-

I'll leave it there.

I was loving the game's various crazy ways to milk score, feeling some depth, enthusiastic about showing off some features, and then hzt sits down and is like "just go to the bottom corner of the screen here."

After some disbelief, and realising I can't actually play the game now without constantly trying to get to the bottom corner of the screen, my feel-good feeling for it has diminished. Damn you NMK, you freaks!

NOTE OF INTEREST:

I should also mention, at the mini birfday meet, Chi cleared the first loop of Slap Fight MD on his third ever credit. He's an asshole because I still haven't done it and played more than three credits, and he wanted me to mention that (the score, not the asshole thing.)

Me too. A little longer I guess.
Times change so fast nowadays. It wasn't too long ago that Tony of Raven Games was buying a Ferrari. Raven Games is how I found out about this forum, when I met elbarto and TC there.

Yeah. I was his personal stylist in an afternoon of suit shopping. He looked pretty dapper in the end - keep an eye on that bride!

I really feel bad about not shopping at raven anymore...guess tony must have fallen on hard times? Even the online shop is barely kept upto date, been like it for years. The signs were there when Jason left as there wasn't enough work then about a year later he split from his wife...I used to love hanging out in that shop on my lunch breaks...I'm surprised it's still hanging on.
