I used to play a bit of Might & Magic, the first one. Old, old school but I think it is enjoyable. Especially if you do not get maps online and make your own as you go.
I have a question about The Temple of Elemental Evil. Troika Games are infamous for releasing their wares when funding's running short and publishers' running out of patience. Arcanum is one of those cRPGs I enjoyed to begin with, yet it bugs would eventually damp my fervour.
Is The Temple of Elemental Evil a finished game? If it's not, what fan-made patches merely take the rough edge off the game rather than substantially alter the gameplay? I'm more interested in the game Troika tried to make than the somebody else's mods.

Thanks a lot. I'm not sure how much of a dungeon game it really is, but the ones in Arcanum were beefy. Beefier even than Icewind Dale labyrinths. Fewer layers, but greater complexity of each floor. Bioware combat always seemed like a placeholder at that, and I never had a problems with taking turns.

Not sure. I did a bit of research and found out about Co8 a few years ago. I installed everything and played the game for about 10 minutes. Not that something turned me off I was just doing other things at the time and never got back to it. Maybe I'll give it a go soon too since I still have it all installed.
